I have been doing atkins for three weeks and already the veggies are much sweeter than before. After I detoxed from sugar and starch, the first pecan I ate tasted so decadent I thought I would die and float to heaven. I am with you, a modified, life-long version of low carb is the path I am following. I also recognize with my weight loss and exercise where it is now...that I must begin to add in the right complex carbs in the right amounts. I am working on it...and I am careful. It is a delicate balance. I just found something delicious called Simply Naked Pita Chips made with oat fiber, unbleached flour, sea salt.., canola and safflower oil and evaporated cane juice. I was surprised at how flavorful they were. They are made by 's Pita Chip Company in Randolph MA. They have 0 saturated fat and no cholesterol and 4% protein. They are my new once-in-awhile treat They are only 15 carbs for a hefty amount with only 130 calories. They are a nice addition for me...since I am not a rice, pasta or potatoeater.
