Guest guest
Both statements below make sense. Thanks Al. Ensuring fitness at a minimum level helps prevent body wasting and guard against muscle loss. It could be tempting (but unsound) to pursue an excessively severe form of CR to gain lifespan. But this strategy over time could backfire, become detrimental, be too severe on the body, result in premature aging, cause loss of functionality, and eventually deteriorate into a medical emergency situation (eg, cachexia, anorexia, infection, etc). A minimal exercise fitness level would help to prevent this. Inability to perform the exercise is a clear danger signal. The astute and prudent CR practitioner would respond quickly to take the corrective remedial measures (increase calories and improve nutrition). -- Warren ========================= On 23 Dec 2003, Dr. Al Pater wrote: > ...
