Guest guest
> > Newbie here. ==>Hi Nicola. Welcome to our group. > I have had a good look through the files and missed or couldn't see the answer to my question. Is it OK to use oil of oregano at the same time as taking probiotics? Or is this a waste of time - does the one kill the other? ==>You need to read my main article sent to you when you joined " How to Successfully Overcome Candida " , or find it in our Group's Files (left menu) in the 1st folder along with Candida, How to Get Started. The first step does not include antifungals other than coconut oil and Pau D'Arco tea, and no probiotics, which is the last step on the program. The reasons are clearly written in my article. ==>There is a lot of false information out there, and the idea that oil of oregano would kill probiotics or good bacteria in the gut is ridiculous. > > My other question is - two of my three children have candida. I have made some progress with oil of oregano (and about 4 weeks ago got really serious with the diet), and was wondering whether it was OK to give oil of oregano capsules to my children. ==>Yes, but doing the diet plus supplements are first and most important. Giving them oil of oregano too early will cause needless die-off symptoms. The diet and supplements should be allowed to kill off a lot of candida first per my article. Children, depending upon their size should have less of a dose than adults - more is not better! > I have cut out sweets, cakes, and chocolate, and they never had fizzy drinks anyway, but they are still eating fruit, potatoes, etc. It is SO difficult with children. ==>There are many members who can help you with feeding children; also see our Folder on Feeding Kids & Teens in the Candida Diet folder.
