Guest guest
Hi ! It's a misconception that greasy (and/or spicy foods) make GERD worse. In and of themselves they are no different than any other food. The problem comes when your stomach feels full enough to relax the muscles. So probably because fats fill you faster that could make you feel worse...but it's not the fat itself. Although it is recommended we only eat 3 meals a day...maybe you should try smaller meals 4-5 times a day and see if that helps. In the long run, eating good fats will help repair the damaged tissue in your throat and esophagus so cutting it down/out is not the way to go. Just my 2 cents worth. Hugs, Ellen [ ] Re: Globus/Gerd-Anxiety Hi Jackie, I read that yoga article and liked it. I do need to work on breathing. I went to the doctor yesterday and they say its gerd - I have daamage in my throat and esophogus. Ive never had digestive problems beofre of any kind, so I think it has to do with diet, unfortunately. One of the big trigger foods for gerd is fat/grease, and then there's onions and garlic. Ive been eating a ton of these So Im cutting them out or down and seeing if that helps. I wont take acid blockers (as prescribed) because that makes more yeast. Im just not sure what I will do about hunger and calories if I dont get to eat a lot of fat. Ugh. Thanks again, jessica
Guest guest
> Hi Bee, I dont imagine traditional peoples having > much gerd, yet it > started when I changed my diet. > **I had a lot of trouble with my stomach from gerd to an ulcer. It all began to become quiet bothersome when i began this diet. I had it previously in my life when i was in my 20's but it seemed to settle down that past 20ish years. I don't know if the change in my eating habits created it or just instigated it again or if there is no connection, but i do know that for some reason it settled down on the diet. The dr gave me 3 rx's and i took them all at one point, but i stopped them and sipped the baking soda and water and that is when it all came together. At times it begins to act up but is stay away from antiacids and the meds and it will subside. In my case maybe its retracing old stuff, or maybe just a weakness for me. Hope this helps you. Thanks... Sue __________________________________________________
