Guest guest
Hi Dani, I have not had any kidney stones or liver tumor but I am going in and having a liver panel done every 3 months because my numbers are on the high side. I asked my doctor, a gastroenterologist, if the high dose of Armour I was on at one time would have caused this and he said no but I am going to ask the doctor that prescribes Armour for me. I do not see him until May sometime. I will let you know what he has to say also. Guest guest
you may be undertreated on Armour, which is common, but you certainly are iodine deficient. http://www.helpmythyroid.com Gracia Funny thing happened on the way to the doctor...I went in for an adrenal looky lo and came out with multiple kidney stones, a kidney cyst and a liver tumor! Guest guest
On this list quite a few people have reported that they feel the best with a TSH reading below the minimum published accepted level. The numbers of these reports have led some of us to suspect that the lower range number is no longer valid, at least for a major fraction of those suffering from hypothyroidism. However, I do not believe there are any accredited studies to support such a hypothesis. A doctor who deliberately treats to something outside of accepted ranges is considered to be doing experimental medicating; and is horribly exposed to law suits. > > Re: Kidney stones related to Armour > <hypothyroidism/message/37617;_ylc=X3oDMTJxNWRpYXU\ 0BF9TAzk3MzU5NzE1BGdycElkAzE0NTY2NARncnBzcElkAzE3MDkyNTEwODIEbXNnSWQDMzc2MTcEc2V\ jA2Rtc2cEc2xrA3Ztc2cEc3RpbWUDMTIwODM0NzczNg--> > > > > Posted by: " Roni Molin " matchermaam@... > <mailto:matchermaam@...?Subject=%20Re%3A%20Kidney%20stones%20related%20to%\ 20Armour> > matchermaam <matchermaam> > > > Tue Apr 15, 2008 5:27 pm (PDT) > > I'll be going for another test in about two weeks. Guest guest
Has ANYONE on this list gotten kidney stones from Armour? Beside the one that already posted. I have not heard of this before. I am curious to know how many have had this as a side effect. I have not. Guest guest
I've had a kidney stone and can relate to the pain; of course I've never had a baby! [ggg] But I've heard that other women who have experienced both say the kidney stone hurts more. I hope you [and I!] never have to go through it again... > > Re: Kidney stones related to Armour > <hypothyroidism/message/37644;_ylc=X3oDMTJxODg2aTZ\ vBF9TAzk3MzU5NzE1BGdycElkAzE0NTY2NARncnBzcElkAzE3MDkyNTEwODIEbXNnSWQDMzc2NDQEc2V\ jA2Rtc2cEc2xrA3Ztc2cEc3RpbWUDMTIwODQ3NzE4MQ--> > > > > Posted by: " le " danosova@... > <mailto:danosova@...?Subject=%20Re%3A%20Kidney%20stones%20related%20to%20A\ rmour> > danosova <danosova> > > > Thu Apr 17, 2008 12:25 pm (PDT) > > Hum...this topic took an odd turn from the correlation of Armour to > kidney stones over to organic farming! Guest guest
Very interesting. So what are the symptoms of kidney stones? Guest guest
It feels like someone heated a sword white hot then stuck it into your lower/mid back [right or left side] and angled it down toward your bladder and then started twisting it. And just kept on and on twisting it. Then after that it REALLY starts to hurt... > > Re: Kidney stones related to Armour > <hypothyroidism/message/37664;_ylc=X3oDMTJxdXE3cGN\ iBF9TAzk3MzU5NzE1BGdycElkAzE0NTY2NARncnBzcElkAzE3MDkyNTEwODIEbXNnSWQDMzc2NjQEc2V\ jA2Rtc2cEc2xrA3Ztc2cEc3RpbWUDMTIwODYwNzk1Mg--> > > > > Posted by: " venizia1948 " nelsonck@... > <mailto:nelsonck@...?Subject=%20Re%3A%20Kidney%20stones%20related%20to\ %20Armour> > venizia1948 <venizia1948> > > > Fri Apr 18, 2008 3:42 pm (PDT) > > Very interesting. Guest guest
It was bad enough that in my drugged state [which made me exceedingly drunk but did nothing for the pain] that I seriously considered going in after the source of the pain with my rusty pocket knife... Morphine sulphate [10%?] is the only thing that I have found that will knock out the pain. The last time or two I had a problem [many years ago] I was very explicit in requesting very strongly what I needed. My first kidney stone doctor was not a urologist, and prescribed something else. " Enough to knock out an elephant " made me drunk but did not lessen the pain at all. > > Re: Kidney stones related to Armour > <hypothyroidism/message/37696;_ylc=X3oDMTJxNmNuaWh\ yBF9TAzk3MzU5NzE1BGdycElkAzE0NTY2NARncnBzcElkAzE3MDkyNTEwODIEbXNnSWQDMzc2OTYEc2V\ jA2Rtc2cEc2xrA3Ztc2cEc3RpbWUDMTIwODY5MDUwMg--> > > > > Posted by: " Chuck B " gumboyaya@... > <mailto:gumboyaya@...?Subject=%20Re%3A%20Kidney%20stones%20related%20to%20Ar\ mour> > gumbo482001 <gumbo482001> > > > Sat Apr 19, 2008 6:08 pm (PDT) > > , > > That resembles the descriptions I have heard of the pain, only nowhere > near as bad. > > Chuck > > > It feels like someone heated a sword white hot then stuck it into your > > lower/mid back [right or left side] and angled it down toward your > > bladder and then started twisting it.
