Guest guest
Hi Mike. I wish I could help, but I have the same problem about not being able to stay asleep for more than a few hours and I am on armour too right now. Have been for 25 years. Mine is weird though. It only happens in the Summer. I have been this way for about 5 years now. I know what its like to be sleepy and in my case grumpy without sleep. Guest guest
Hi Betty, Same here. We are pretty far north, and every year, most of us become maniacs, in the literal sense of the word, when the sun comes out in spring. I remember waking up at 4:00 before, but 12:30 is ridiculous. I had a good workout this morning, but now I feel kind of jittery. I just took 1 grain first thing this morning (well, about 4:00), and another 1/2 a few minutes ago. I usually take the whole 1 1/2 grains first thing, but I'm trying to spread it out a little more. Jittery then sleepy. Sheesh, this is going to get old fast. > > Hi Mike. > > I wish I could help, but I have the same problem about not being able > to stay asleep for more than a few hours and I am on armour too right > now. Guest guest
Hi Gail, I am a magnesium junky because I spend a lot of time sweating it out in an infrared sauna, or spinning an elliptical. I was so tired last night I forgot to take it, but I did at 12:30 when I woke up. TOo late then I s'pose. Guest guest
Mike, have you dealt with adrenals? Have you considered the waking's can be from some other source? Are you emotionally healthy? Do you set an alarm? If I know I have to get up at a certain time, but I don't set my alarm clock I keep waking up. My doc suggests spreading my Armour out taking it a couple times of day, but I would always forget the 2nd dose. So I take all 4 grains as soon as I wake up. Maybe you could change the time of day you take yours. Maybe at night before bed.? crystal -- Re: Any advice on staying asleep? Hi Betty, Same here. Guest guest
Hi Crystal, My doc is very good, but very slow and methodical. WIth this last round of tests, she is concerned about tumors and hypopituitary issues, so that is what she is focusing on. The cortisol numbers for the 24 hour urine were high normal. If this goes on too much longer, I'll pay for the 4x cortisol saliva test out of my own pocket. It might be worth a try taking a little Armour right before bed. I get sleepy right after I take it in the morning. It just seems contra-intuitive. Emotions, nothing new going on there. Things are actually getting better these days. Thanks Crystal, -Mike > > Mike, have you dealt with adrenals? Have you considered the waking's can be > from some other source? Are you emotionally healthy? OK, Here's a few more things - Calcium can have a role in early waking, so maybe too much Magnesium is creating an imbalance at the moment? Taurine can help by getting the magnesium into the cells - it is also supporting the liver which a lot of us seem to need, which prompts the thought that liver support in general may help, so liver herbs like Milk Thistle could be helpful Also the herb Rhodiola could help because it supports the adrenals, balances blood sugar and has a role in improving thyroid fuuction. The orotate form of Magnesium is meant to be better for actually getting the Magnesium into the cells quickly - other forms allow it to build up in the body but not necessarily in the cell. You might need extra Vitamin B6 to help the Magnesium work. Magnesium helps you get to sleep and Potassium helps you to stay asleep. Potassium is also needed to move thyroid hormone into the cells. 5HTP is supposed to increase the length of sleep time. Check out the sleep information on the Stop the Thyroid Madness site - on the adrenal page there is information on using Phosphatidyl Serine - it uses up the excess nighttime cortisol and keeps you asleep. Vitamin B3 (200 - 1,000 mg of the Niacinamide form of Vitamin B3 taken at bedtime) Also B12, Vitamine E, Inositol and Choline all have a role too. It can be really helpful to split your armour into at least 3 doses. This keeps the blood levels of T3 steadier and means that the adrenals don't have to cope with a sudden large surge of it and then be struggling for energy a few hours later. Ahh, the birds and the B's. Yep, I take a B complex, and B-12 sublingually whenever I'm lifting weights, I probably ought to get Folate and B-6 in there too. As odd as it sounds, I get sleepy after taking a dose of Armour. Maybe I should take one right before I go to bed. I woke up this morning, 2:30 (2 extra hours of sleep!!!!) and my heart was pounding, pulse was only 64, but BP was way up. Took my Armour, and it went down. But... my doctor lady wants me to be on 1/2 grain. I'm at 2 grain. This is going to HURT!!! That, or I will be obliged not to comply. This morning I only took 1/2 grain, and already I'm starting to slip. Hope this doesn't kill me. Sometimes I think doctors hate me. > Gail > Thanks for all the good info Gail! -Mike %^)

Guest guest
Yeah I started taking magnesium because of fibromyalgia which it's supposed to help with and I sleep great with it. I also have regained my long eye lashes....I didn't even know it had that effect, but it's weird. **************Gas prices getting you down? Search AOL Autos for fuel-efficient used cars.
