Guest guest
accchhh I think it would be better to just get proper thyroid treatment. Gracia Curious to know if anyone who has had weight gain due to thyroid problems has had liposuction? If so, did the fat come back to the areas treated? AJ **************Start the year off right. Guest guest
Oh AJ? Remember that foto I sent you? The one of the really hot babe? I " LOST " around 129 pounds on the proper meds. No lipo no weight loss surgery, just the proper hormones " dosed by symptoms " . Oh wait, and I sat on my big fat arse in front of the TV and computer while loosing all that weight. And afterwards, when my face was all hangy baggy, I had a lower face lift - the top part of my face is still wrinkly, but my neck no longer hangs down to my navel... heh No liposuction, AJ, you won't need it... Guest guest
Or you became hyperthyroid dosing that way, which causes dramatic weight loss (I know, I was hyperthyroid in my 20's). Guest guest
Nope, I never became hypErthyroid at all. Dosing by symptoms was the easiest way to dose for me. My body just let go of all that it didn't need. As a matter of fact, I am still a bit over weight maybe by 20- ish poundsore or less, altho I look pretty hot and have really nice boobs at this weight. <grin> Whenever hypO symptoms returned, I increased by dose, but I didn't increase my dose by large percentages, I increased by 1/2 grain (30mg) at a time until I was at 6 or 7 grains when dosing by one grain at a time only added a small perentage to my dose. For example, I started at 2 grains, so adding 30mg (1/2 grain) increased my dose by 25%. At 4 grains, adding 30mg meant I increased my dose by only 12.5%. At 10 grains adding 60mg (one grain) only increased my dose by 10%. The higher in dose I got, the lower in percentage I increased. Seriously, I had TWO choices - die or self treat, so I chose the least fatal course. However, I learned what I needed to do before I ever attempted it - seems like the " old school way " works pretty darned good. Proof's in the puddin' Wanna see fotos? Guest guest
I can't imagine anyone abusing thyroid meds to lose weight. The sensation of overdoing Armour/Levoxyl is most unpleasant. Despite the fact Armour and other thyroid meds are commonly available overseas on the internet they are not common to use as diet drugs....at least as far as I know. Comments??? Guest guest
Hi AJ, I (james) garner from your mail that you would actually consider going through with this barbaric procedure? Check yourself before you wreck yourself homeboy! Do you really want some quack poking around inside your body through an open wound with a vacuum cleaner, as if they're trying to get at that awkward corner behind the TV? That's some sick *hit! Once you settle on the correct course of medication, any weight accumulated due to your underactive thyroid should fall off pretty quick-smart, like Gracia and Sam said. So put the mutilation on hold and check it out homie!! Just my fiddy cents worth, Henry > > Curious to know if anyone who has had weight gain due to thyroid problems > has had liposuction? Guest guest
No doubt! I've actually been accused of this, however I have never at any time purposely given myself an overdose of thyroid replacement. I don't know why anyone would assume a sensible human being would willingly attempt to give themselves a heart attack, diarrhea, uncontrollable shakes, hairloss, and the like. Ick. Feeling good is one thing but trying to kill oneself is insane. Something interesting is that since I've been treating my low aldosterone, I've noticed a bit more weight loss, altho not a lot, but it's steady. I do NOT diet in any way shape or form, but I don't over-eat either, and I love chocolate cake. :-D Sam (4ft 11 inches tall) > > I can't imagine anyone abusing thyroid meds to lose weight. Guest guest
How did you self_treat? I didn't think you could buy Amour, or any thyroid meds, with out a doctor's prescription. I have the same issue with my weight. In April, I was 118 lbs. After my RAI treatment, and six months later I am 138 lbs. I have not changed my eating habits at all. My doctor just upped my synthyroid to 75 from 50, but I am not sure that will work. > > > > > > Curious to know if anyone who has had weight gain due to thyroid > > problems > > > has had liposuction? Guest guest
you can buy them online from an overseas company- where usually you don't need a scrip as long as they label them nutritional supplements and not medicine. I have gotten them for a UK based company and have never had any problems with customs. write me off list if you want the web address. nancie Re: Anyone with weight gain have Liposuction? Guest guest
You are correct. Cocaine/heroin are not things that one would take to replace thyroid hormones. Interesting that you would mention those particular drugs, tho. It seems many allopaths I have come across seem to feel Armour Thyroid is the same as heroin and cocaine. Guest guest
I was literally forced to self treat or die. I learned how to do it first and then I ordered from overseas. I think, tho, maybe you should try to find a better doc first. You can go to www.armourthyroid.com and click n the " find a doctor " button, input your zip code, and you will get a list of doctors who have prescribed Armour Thyroid. You can also go and ask at a " compounding " pharmacy which medical poeple are prescribing " BOTH " Armour Thyroid " AND natural hormones called " BHRT " ...you should get a list of names of regular medical doctors, naturopaths, nurse practitioners, and physicians assistants. Naturopaths and nurse practitioners are in general more inclined to bide by the wishes of a patient who requests to be put on Armour Thyroid. But make sure you interview any contacts you get, to see if they are the right fit for you in particular. Try that first because you may find someone who is fantastic. In my situation I had already done that and was in a dire medical situation where I might not have made it a few more months... I really had to move fast to save my own life. Guest guest
It proves Dusty's point. Treating symptoms only has its limitations; just like any other kind of treatment. And it the worst case scenario can be fatal. It's better to seek a balance, as Dr. Hertoghe did. While he could [apparently] diagnose from appearance and other subtle clues he always seemed to follow up with tests. Always. > > Re: Anyone with weight gain have Liposuction? > <hypothyroidism/message/34730;_ylc=X3oDMTJxODFhanA\ 0BF9TAzk3MzU5NzE1BGdycElkAzE0NTY2NARncnBzcElkAzE3MDkyNTEwODIEbXNnSWQDMzQ3MzAEc2V\ jA2Rtc2cEc2xrA3Ztc2cEc3RpbWUDMTIwMDAyMDY3MA--> > > > > Posted by: " Roni Molin " matchermaam@... > <mailto:matchermaam@...?Subject=%20Re%3A%20Anyone%20with%20weight%20gain%2\ 0have%20Liposuction%3F> > matchermaam <matchermaam> > > > Thu Jan 10, 2008 5:45 pm (PST) > > Yes.
