Guest guest
Just returned from a trip to the health food store and am always amazed at how some foods are actually much cheaper there. Frozen berries for example, are anywhere from $2.29 to $2.99 a pound. They sell a frozen berry medley (blueberries, strawberries, blackberries, raspberries) for $2.99 a lb - perfect for us lazy folks who want variety. As most of you know, these berries are loaded with anti-oxidants and are among the healthiest of foods. The supermarket sells fresh berries at much higher costs. Usually anywhere from $2.99 ( if on sale) to $4.99 a lb and without the advantage of offering a mixed berry package. They also sell shelled mixed nuts without the salt. In the supermarket, of course, if you want shelled nuts, you have to buy the salt and the oil that comes with it - unwanted extras.
