first of all your dose of Armour is just too low. I could only tolerate 90mg

Armour until I finally got the adrenal help I needed. cortef + DHEA + estrogen

gave me back my life and then I could go to 240mg Armour. I think there is

good adrenal advice on http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com

IMO it is sooo important to treat adrenals properly--it is not scary and

dangerous.

Hello all,

I am new to the group and experiencing symptoms since changing my dose

of Armour. I have got in a mess.... I have been taking 1 grain a day

(in the morning, an hour before breakfast) for three years now, but

decided to up the dose as I was feeling sluggish again. I took an

extra half a grain for two days and did not feel ok, so went back to my

normal dose. Then I got a tightness in the chest and that shaky

feeling inside and scared myself so stopped taking anything for two

days! I have gradually started introducing the Armour again - half a

grain a day and I feel even more shaky. I have split the dose on

reading that it is best to do this (??) a quarter grain in the moring

and a quarter grain in the afternoon. I feel decidedly odd and am

feeling like I want to stop the Armour

Could this shaking be connected to the adrenals? I seem to get the

shaking feeling whether taking more - or less than my regular dose.

I would be really grateful for any thoughts or experiences. Thank you,

Lesley

That shaky feeling could possibly be coming from low blood sugar. If you awaken

in the morning, take the Armour and wait an hour, in which you get shaky, your

blood sugar could be low. You could have a blood test to see if this is what is

happening.

Lesley, Have you tried taking your Armour sublingually? It does not

taste bad, just kinda sweet. I put mine under my tongue and it takes

5-10 minutes to be totally gone. Sublingually taking it is the way to

get the best absorption, that is why I started doing it. But it is

such a benefit in that I don't have to wait that hour after swallowing

it. I am diabetic and it is a real benefit to get to eat sooner after

waking up. I have been taking Armour less that two months, but I am

amazed how much better I feel. I used to have terrible aches and pains

all over and problems sleeping because of it. And I used to be so

exhausted all the time. I'm looking forward to better health as

continue to learn and work at everything. Like exercise-which I can

actually tolerate a little- and taking some health supplements

(Thyroid Energy). I'm sorry that I don't know about adrenal support

yet. I've got plenty to learn myself. I read about taking sublingual

somewhere. I'll try to find it if you want to read it.

The easiest way to figure out if it is low blood sugar is just to eat

something like peanut butter crackers (if you're not allergic to

peanuts) the next time you feel shaky and see if it makes you feel

better.

Saying a prayer for you right now, In Jesus' love, Beverly

Dear Lord, Please help Lesley to find what would help with this

shakiness. Thank You for Your help, and for always helping me.
