The Abelard and Heloise story really traumatized me when I first read it in my youth... Perhaps even more traumatic for the guys, considering the surgical procedure involved, without anesthesia or antiseptic! Should be at least R rated. The gist of the later charges was that Bernard wanted to give priority to faith over reason; Abelard, the reverse, a perennial battle.
