Guest guest
Hi Chuck, Thanks for your response and the name of the other company...So if 1/4 of a grain is what they " claim " to be in their thyroid, how much of that product would I need for a replacemet dose? Thanks! And again, thanks! Chuck B <gumboyaya@...> wrote: , You wrote: > > Thanks for your response. Sorry, evidently the limit is more like 1/4 grain of dry tissue, which contains less than 10 mcg of T4. Our local compounding pharmacy may have cut that in half to give us 0.005 mg or 5 mcg of T4. > ... Does that mean that the other glandulars in the meds don't amount to much as well? Yes. If you get it without a prescription, it can't (legally) have more than a trace of the active elements. I did find another supplier, also at 1/4 grain per daily dose: http://www.life-enhancement.com/product.asp?ID=206 Chuck
Guest guest
I found something called " Raw Thyroid " in a local health food store. The label clearly states that the thyroxine has been taken out. If that's so, then exactly what is it you're getting in that little capsule? Alfalfa? You wrote: Really? Never saw anything remotely close in any health fodd stores and that is the only place I shop and I used to work in one. Yes, I buy mine straight from PHP, never Dr. Dane. Yes, the only reason I agreed to take the eco was because the gland is from New Zealand. I am not comfortable with the health of our animals here in the US. Dr. Dane claims it is a " proprietary " mixture finely tuned for her theories about blood types. She makes it sound as if she manufactures it herself. Her price was $42 for a 60 day supply. PHP in Pittsburgh says they get the glands from New Zealand. I suspect they are an importer of the dessicated product; that the real OEM is outside the U.S. You can buy similar dessicated and deactivated thyroid glands in most health stores. I wonder if they just change labels. Chuck jessica stanziale

As I recall the two that claim to leave the natural potency in place were Nutri-Meds and Life-Enhancement, although they are at 1/4 grain per dose. Erfa Canada was originally a branch of Pfizer, so I suspect theirs is a prescription type medication, competing with Armour. Doses are advertised in multiples of 30 mg (0.5 grains), which is roughly the same as the increments of potency for the synthetics. They mentioned an interruption in production during the sale, which means they now have a backlog in orders. Chuck

At least 10 (180 mg or 3 grains). With T4, women seem to need about double what men need. The Armour folks don't seem to discriminate, perhaps due to the potency of the T3. All you get from it is meat protein and a tiny quantity of the nutrients that your thyroid uses to function. That's why I suggested you make a nice stew out of sweetbreads (animal organs) and get a lot more of the same thing for a much lower price. Guest guest
There is no way to be certain that eco thyro has anything to do with your health; as a matter of fact what evidence we have seems to suggest otherwise. As for why you are sick or well, we well know that sometimes even the best doctors and scientists cannot tell you that; and I am neither. When double blind medical studies are done using newly discovered [very effective] drugs it is not too unusual for a large number of people to show tremendous improvement when given a placebo, which is a fake medical pill. Sometimes 25% or 30% or even more fall into this category. Given the misery some here have with hypo it is certainly good news if you do not have it; the bad news is that you don't know exactly what it is that you _do_ have. OTOH, I show elevated TSH which is controlled by Synthroid, yet I have none of the symptoms. What is my problem? I really haven't a clue. Well, that's not exactly true; because elevated TSH controlled by Synthroid is probably multiple clues; but the absence of symptoms seems to contradict the usual conclusion. It is quite possible that you would start feeling miserable if you stopped taking eco. However, it would not be because you stopped getting T3 or T4 from eco, because it most likely has no more than trace quantities. Luck, 4d. Does that mean I am not really hypo and that all my symptoms and bloodwork are an illusion? Not being rude, just confused! Is it that my case is just not severe enough so I am getting by on something that doesn't contain the chemicals necessary for hypothyroid? If so then I consider this great news! <res075oh@... <mailto:res075oh%40verizon.net>> wrote: Chuck is telling you that eco thyro legally cannot contain the chemicals necessary for hypothyroid treatment; and that the referenced web site tells you exactly that.
