Guest guest
There was a gathering of CRONies here in Long Beach California about 2 years ago that I won't forget. About 8 or 10 attendees. I brought along a big bag of delicious avocados picked fresh from my tree. I offered them for free. Nobody would take any. But then ... I don't eat them myself... But I was surprised that the others were the same as me. I think it is the excess calories, and not the general healthfulness of the avocado fruit. Only so many calories are allowed. Thus otherwise healthy foods just don't fit in to our diet, at least not without blowing the calorie budget and adding more to the burden that we are trying to reduce. Same goes for grains, beans, starchy tubers, cereals, sweet fruits, etc. So many calories..., yet the nutrition (DWIDP analysis) is small, relatively speaking -- compared to other items that deliver so much more nutrition per calorie. They are not bad ... They just don't fit well (except in very small quantities) into the CRONie program. -- Warren Yes, I will eat an avocado every now and then. And also some grains and legumes (sprouted). Everything is allowed..., but the calories must be limited, and the nutrition maximized. ========================== > -----Original Message----- > From: Rodney [mailto:perspect1111@...] > Sent: Sunday, January 18, 2004 10:37 AM > > Subject: [ ] Re: Walnuts/avocado (was: A Suggestion) > > > Hi Francesca: > > 88% of the calories in California avocadoes are from fat and 15% of > that fat is saturated.
