Guest guest
I'm starting to think the problem with my blood flow yesterday was that I drank an electrolyte drink just prior to going to give blood. I believe the salt in the drink constricted my blood vessels. (I don't understand the process, though... my blood pressure was high normal [135/84], yet it wasn't pumping enough to fill up the bag more than 25%???) I'm not saying the drink or the sodium is bad or anything... but next time, I'll probably just drink some water with lemon only prior to going and skip the sodium. And I might take a little glass of lemon water for afterwards when they try to make people eat cookies and soft drinks. Of course, it is more than possible it was just a horrible technician who was not good at finding veins too. Now I have to wait 2 months before I can give again.... grrrrrrr... after searching and reading the files, as a guy, I believe it's important to get the extra iron out of my system. I plan on donating blood every 2 months from here on out!!! Doug
