Guest guest
Hello Natin: To extract the wheatgrass juice, you need a juicer that will accomodate wheatgrass juicing. I've tried the " GreenLife " juicer and it is not all it is said to be. My current juicer is the " Omega 8001 " and it does a wonderful job. You can also make nut butters, juice fruits and vegetables, and it even has a pasta attachment for making fresh pasta. It juices wheatgrass in a breeze. the Omega 8001 is less expensive$225.00 US) than the Greenlife ($399.00 US), the Omega 8001 is more versatile, easier to clean, and juices at a much lower temperature so as to not kill any nutrients. Hope this information is helpful. Kathleen

Guest guest
greetings, the only way i know is how we do it here at our home. i simply cut the grass and put it in my juicer. i have a juicer made for wheat grass. i am told that is the only way to do it. if anyone else knows maybe they will share that info glowbeam
Guest guest
You also might try using a VitaMix. If you are familiar with the machine, you know that it will do everything you ask it to do. I have one and that machine will juice and pulverize whatever I want to put in it, skin and all. That way you get all the nutrients, not just part of it. Guest guest
In response to your message, unfortunately there is no easy way to extract the green juices from plant material. The current and probably the move convient methods are by using " wheat grass juicers " . My experience is that manual ones are very slow, and though functional, probably require more patience that most are welling to put forth. The electric ones are far more productive and also more expensive. Unfortunately only juicers designed to juice green grass type material are effecient at doing it and each one has it differences, from ease of cleaning, cost of acquisition, to effeciency of extraction. There are many on the market now that will extract wheat grass juice (usually with somewhat less effeciency) as well as juicing other materials from fruits and vegetables. The wheatena juicers are designed for juicing wheatgrass specifically, while other commercial brand (gear type) will do wheatgrass and other materials though with a probably loss of efficiency of extraction and somewhat more complicate cleanup. It becomes and individuals choice. If you have the time manual juicers are effective, if you need relatively large quanties at one time electric ones are more productive, if you are planning on juicing seriously and for an extended period I believe it is worth of buying the best machine (generally the more expensive) you can afford. There are now many site on the web selling these products that can be informational, if you can find some one that has the machine you decide upon their opinions are valuable. Unfortunately the bottom line comes only through use of the various machines and the personal decisions of what is best for you and your circumstance. Enjoy the green stuff nelson gray wheat grass juice >greatings from lebanon > >i have palanted wheat to grow grass for juice. now it >is more or less 4 inches long. i would like to know >how to take out juice from the wheat grass. we want >to take daily with breakfast. > >with regards > >rutu gadhia > >__________________________________________________ >
Guest guest
Hello All, I did a search at this group site to see what's been said/written about wheat grass juice and found only one minor reference to it. I recently began taking this juice daily a few days ago and am extremely surprised at how beneficial it's been for me. No fever, less brain fog, more energy, less pain, much better at handling stress. I am hoping this isn't one of those remedy's that doesn't last. Has anyone had experience with this? If so, would you tell us about it? Thanks in advance for any insights!
Guest guest
Hi , Yes, I have had good results with wheat grass in the past and I'm taking it now. Only one cup first thing in the morning, but I'dlike to build up to more. I'm using the frozen juice. Too much of a hassle to juice it myself. How much are you taking? Ten years ago I was going to an alternative physician who did a dark field microscope analysis of my blood and the blood cells were all crinkled and misshappen. They remained so after some months of treatments with IV vitamins and minerals. Then I did wheat grass for six weeks, 1 cup daily, and suddenly the dark field showed normal shaped blood cells. I'm very chemicall sensitive and last year I bought a new 17 " monitor which was outgassing some horrible fumes and I was sick as a dog for weeks before I discovered the cause. During that time, a cup of wheat grass juice markedly reduced my symptoms. Now I have breast cancer and have started wheat grass again. It is being used to treat cancer and other diseases by The Hippocrates Institute in Puerto Rico, I think. I haven't checked, but I think they have a web site. There is a bit about wheat grass on www.sproutman.com. Let me know what you are doing and how you are doing. Carol PS I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease last year (gluten intolerance) and I was unsure if wheat grass was gluten free. Apparently the grass is, altho if they get any seeds into the juicer it will not be, but they must be very careful because I've not had any reactions. > I did a search at this group site to see what's been said/written about > wheat grass juice and found only one minor reference to it. Guest guest
, I've been using it for about six months now. I have experienced gradual results/improvement using two ounces a day first thing in the morning. I stopped for three weeks and fell back. It's the only so called rememdy that I can tell has made any difference in my energy level. How much wheat grass have you been taking? Guest guest
I drink wheat grass juice--only 1 or 2 ounces daily, on an empty stomach, sipping it slowly. After only 4 months I notice definite benefits of increased energy and slightly improved brain power. Since it is a living food (if taken within a half hour of being cut and juiced), it brings living phyto energy from the sun into the body. It is easy to digest, particularly when sipped (although some complain of stomach ache from it). Also, homemade sprouts in jars are excellent living foods. Many are outstanding cancer fighters. Broccoli sprouts are one example. Stay away from unfresh sprouts and all alfalfa sprouts. I also make and drink almond milk, which is alkaline, liquid protein. Tastes like milk. Delicious and easily digestible for those who need alkaline and protein.

Guest guest
wheatgrass is loaded with cytochrome oxidase (for cell energy/respiration) and SOD! Guest guest
Thank you very much to those who have responded so far about my wheat grass questions. A couple of you have asked how much I'm taking. I am taking 2 ounces daily. Because I WAS not able to leave the house, I bought the (apparently not as good) " flash frozen " form. Since taking it I can leave the house because I am much better. Meanwhile I have learned how to grow it at home and buy an inexpensive wheat grass friendly juicer. I plan to do this soon. I understand 4 ounces is good when treating cancer. Carol, what an interesting experience you had with this juice. Thanks for the additional note about it's seeds and gluten intolerance. And I'm sorry to hear that you have breast cancer. Thank God medicine is winning the fight against breast cancer and the outlook has improved dramatically. I'll be thinking of you and wishing you well. Brad, It's great this juice has helped you too! Interesting that you stopped it for 3 weeks and relapsed with symptoms. This is the first remedy I've heard here and elsewhere that has had such a positive response. It seems to work for everyone with few, if any, side effects. Most of the medicines/herbs available help some of us, not others. And most seem to not be effective for very long. I guess the pharmaceutical field isn't able to make $ off this, or I'd have heard about it much sooner! " Makaliom@ " , thanks for the great advice about this juice, sprouts in general, and almond milk. If I ever discover I need alkaline and protein I'll definitely email you about the almond milk. You are obviously very knowledgeable about homeopathy. I'm just sorry to hear it took 4 months to see that wheat grass juice worked for you. I noticed a vast improvement immediately. Gosh, how good will I feel in 4 months? lol Nil, I appreciate you sending the site addy for wheat grass. I'll check it out asap! " olv_26 " , thanks for the bio info! I've been following the emails concerning SOD, but was unaware wheat grass was a source of it! MJH, It sounds like the chlorophyll content is a major part of the healing powers of this juice. As I said, I am currently taking the " flash frozen " form, it costs about $15.00 for ten ounces (cheaper if bought by the case). Growing it and making it at home sounds much more reasonable. I recently received Ann Wigmore's, whom you mentioned, net address and will check it out very soon. I am a relatively new member here and have learned so much from reading all your emails and posts. A wealth of knowledge here! Thanks again everyone, for replying. So far, this juice is the greatest thing since sliced bread! At least to me. Guest guest
I'm interested to see all this good talk of wheat grass juice. Last month a woman in our local support group mentioned having spent 3 weeks at Optimum Health Institute with very good results. Their program is centered on wheat grass juice. I looked up their website: www.optimumhealth.org They are in San Diego and Austin. $600 or more per week, residential, everything included. Thanks for all this discussion. I'm going to see where I can find some wheat grass juice to try. (I, too, don't have energy to grow & juice it myself just now.) -Lynn Kidder
Guest guest
Hi, Thanks for the information on wheatgrass and almond milk. I've just begun trying to sprout--started yesterday with lentils. Will try the wheatgrass next. What type of sprouting equimpment do you and others use? Also, would you or anyone else have a recipe for the almond milk or a link to where I could find a good recipe. I actually just tried making some cultured almond paste today. It is partially predigested and I got the recipe from " Recipes for longer life " by Wigmore. Guest guest
Hi all you Wheat Grass fans, The stuff I've learned recently comes from the Optimum Health Institute although I haven't stayed there myself, I've learned through a close friend and books/handouts from there. That's where I order seeds and sprout bags, etc. My guess would be that flash frozen would be more potent than any dried form if frozen immediately. I might question if it is still alive, but could still be pretty potent in nutrients. Anyone know? I think of other products with wheat grass in them as totally different than fresh cut and squeezed living wheat grass juice. But as was said, some is always better than none as it is such complete, natural, absorbable nutrition. Use wheat juice grass to give yourself enemas (called implants) to cleanse the intestines as was mentioned earlier here.. Brush your teeth, treat cuts, rinse eyes out. Gargle with it. For me, I have to keep sprouting, juicing and dehydrating etc. to a minimum because it is such a high maintenance way to eat--need energy to get the job done. That's why I like the fresh wheat grass juice at a nearby healthfood store. klm

Guest guest
Hi Bee Thanks again fo your support. I am getting into the program well but there is a lot to learn. Part of my nutritional plan before finding this group was to grow and juice my own wheat grass. In the message files you seem to support the use of wheat grass juice in liquid form but since the recent questions about chlorophyl I was wondering if you still do and whether it would still be a good idea. I am particularly interested given my extreme constipation thinking that the juice may help. many thanks paul

Guest guest
Hello Brigitte: I solved the problem when I purchased a Vita-Mix unit. The amazing thing is you put the whole wheatgrass into the mixer - add a small amout of water or ice cubes and run the mixer for a short time - it totally pulverizes the leaves into a mix the body can assemilate - plus it gives you aditional fiber - then I add a few other raw veggies and have a very healthy drink at an almsot no cost. This was proven to work from a friend who is a Nutrition Specialist for a local University. And NO - I am not a salesperson for Vita-Mix - just a booster. If you find the pruchase price for a new unit - somehwere near $400 go online as I did and I purchased one for under $100 - very compareable with other juicers. You don't need the latest current model of Vita-Mix as I purchase an older model and it works perfectly. Good Luck - JoAnn From: misslavande <misslavande@...> Subject: Wheat grass juice Date: Friday, February 20, 2009, 5:49 PM Hello everyone I was away and missed you gang It is good to hear from you again cannot read the thousand or so messages since early Jan.
