Hi :

Ever tried RED lentils? Dead easy to cook. Much easier than regular

lentils.

Whoever is having trouble cooking " regular " (green, I assume)lentils,

try this out: it only takes 1-2 minutes to cook sprouted lentils.

Sprout the " regular " lentils for a few days, until the sprout is not

quite as long as the lentil's diameter. You can experiment with how

long you want the sprout to be. Then bring a little water barely to

a boil, and put the lentils in, while stirring for 1-2 minutes.

Cooked sprouted lentils have a great taste and texture. I much

prefer eating sprouted cooked lentils versus unsprouted lentils.

It is not recommended to eat sprouted lentils raw. Almost all legume

sprouts should be cooked a bit. There are some " inhibitors " present

in raw legume sprouts that are destroyed with the cooking.

Store bought lentils should sprout with no problem.

Red lentils don't sprout very well, because they tend to be quite

thin.

If you enjoy the sprouted lentils as much as I do, go shopping online

at Mumm's to find many different varieties of sprouting lentils-----

varieties you will never find at any supermarket. Mumm's is a great

place to purchase your sprouting seeds; however, as mentioned, you

can sprout regular lentils that have been purchased almost anywhere.
