Guest guest
Hi Deb, Yes, I do get scared to be honest with you. I asked him if I was losing my mind and he said no. It's the hep and my amonia level is probably high as I am in end stage and hoping and praying for a liver. Although I am functioning on 20% of my liver, my hepatologist says overall my blood work is good except for sugar and WBC. My spleen is enlarged and I hurt like hell all over but I force myself to go out every day and walk and live. I will beat this as I am very strong-willed but to be honest with you, the scariest things has been my loss of memory so your not the only one. Hang in there! Guest guest
Thanks so much Janet. I appreciate all the wonderful replies everyone has sent to me. When I went to the hospital to see my mom, I have been there numerous times, I wound up in Philadelphia which is two hours away from the hospital. I was determined to find it and a nice boy at Mc's (who probably thought I was nuts) gave me the directions and I couldn't remember what he said so he wrote them down. I know what you mean about AAAAAARRRGGG! Sue :-)
Guest guest
Sorry-just trying to add some humor. Yes-I constantly forget stuff. I have to drive back & forth to my house because I forgot something at home. One time I went back 3 times for different things. I hope the neighbors don't think I'm too crazy. I know that I forget if I take my pills and have taken them twice. Thats bad. It drives me nuts (a short drive in my case), but I try to keep my humor instead of getting upset at myself. I can't change it anyway. I do take Ginkgo Bioba which is supposed to help the memory. I don't know how bad I would be if I didn't take it and I'm afraid to find out. Don't panic-just try to flow with it and adjust your life according to what you're capable of. My computer has become my backup to my mind and I put everything that I can into it. Guest guest
Try also vitamin B1, thiamine, it is common to be low on this with liver problems---comes in generic, otc, drug store brand 50-100mg, once daily. Guest guest
e, I went through the same thing when my older daughter was complaining of wrist pain. My (at the time) usually non-understanding pediatrician was incredible. She spent quite a lot of time reassuring me that the chances were very slim, but that anything bore watching. Thankfully is fine, but for me, a slim chance is enough to take my child in to be checked. Hopefully as in our case, and most cases, it will be fine. Good luck. Guest guest
Hi e, Your thoughts and worries are perfectly understandable. We know that the odds of another child getting JRA are slim ,but we also know it has happend before.Just keep an eye on him and see if he improves.I get the same way, only with s sister she gets leg pain at night about every two months. It usually lasts a few days and it never fails that when I put her up to the garage wall she has grown.Classic growing pains but makes me nervous anyway, and I do worry everytime she gets sick that something is going to happen.Worrying is one of the things moms do best. Guest guest
e- How could you not be paranoid? I think we all are :-). My older daughter has complained of leg pain from time to time and I always feel a moment of panic. I know what you mean about not trusting your judgment as to what looks and feels normal. Before was diagnosed, I kept questioning whether her knee looked swollen and whether she was limping or were her legs two different lengths. My husband and I would go back and forth on whether I was imagining it or not. I wasn't. I wish I'd been quicker to go with my instincts because I was questioning little things for a while before I actually decided yes something is wrong. So if you think the knees are swollen and warm, pay attention to your instincts. I've never seen any physical evidence to make me question Breanne's complaints of leg pain, which have apparently just been normal growing pains. But I always tell her let's wait till the morning to see if it still hurts and if it does we'll go to the dr. I hope it's nothing and you are just being "paranoid. It probably is nothing. But if you still have questions in a day or two, I'd get it checked out just to be safe. Diane (, 3, pauci)
Guest guest
Becki, Isn't it funny how over-concerned we get when one of the kids gets sick now? Never fails to amaze me how I have gone from "You'll feel better after a good nights sleep", to "A sore throat? Maybe I should call the doctor." lol It's like I am someone else entirely. Guest guest
It is comforting to see I am not the only " crazy " person out there. Maya now goes to a special needs nursery 2 mornings per week and if any of the children there have a cold then I don`t leave her. Once winter comes I doubt that she will be attending much if she is as ill this winter as she was last winter, but at least she has had the chance of having a " normal " life for a few months. Guest guest
Kate: I have the same exact thing happening to me, but it has been FOR YEARS. I had c-toma in my left and no problems with my right. Then, about 2-3 years ago my right ear started to plug up constantly and I'm constantly having to do the Valsalva maneuver (holding nose and blowing slightly). This works almost all the time, but I'm concerned because I've heard so many people talking about Eustachian tube dysfunction (which is most likely what this is) and that this may be a culprit of c-toma. At one point (although I was pregnant) I was told that Prednisone would clear this up, but never went on it! I'm concerned as much as you are! I'll be seeing my ENT to have a cleaning soon, so you bet I'll be bringing it up AGAIN! Take care, I.merrycake777 <merrycake@...> wrote: hiya everyone i realise that i'm most likely being paranoid here so just say if i am. this isn't about my "bad" ear, see for a couple of weeks my right ear has been constantly popping, whenever i open my mouth, move my jaw or swallow etc. and i'm not sure exactly how but i've noticed my hearing has shifted somehow, quieter yeah but i'm not really sure how. sometimes i get pains in it but it's never for long. i was wondering if you guys think i should mention it to the doc, i don't want to sound para. do you think because i have c-toma in my left ear i have a chance it could be in my right ear? its not discharging but i've heard it isn't always there. some advice would be great sorry if i sound stupid! take carekatexxx
Guest guest
i think it's different for everyone. i'm a bit more than half way through my 2nd challange, and i've found that if i eat outside of the 1250-1400 range consistantly, i gain fat. i think i just have a really slow rmr right now. the safe range for most people is 12-15 times their body weigt- or their lean weight, depending on the method they choose. you're just going to have to experiment, and find out what works best for you. cera asiabird01 wrote: > Hi all, told me that I need to eat more...I'm totally paranoid > of eating more than 1200-1400 calories. Guest guest
--- I think what cera said is good. you have to experiment to see what works for you. I do not count calories just portions. but I believe I may be eating up in the 2000 calorie range. I can't go much lower without starving and I hate that feeling more than anything now. I will be eating more than that now because I have added more cardio and will need the extra calories to maintain my hard earned muscle. but I can still loose fat with 2000 calories. my cals are high because I add fat to my meals. each meal usually has some sort of healthy fat because I have found my body just needs that. but..it took alot of experimenting to find that out. I would have never guessed. my fat comes in forms like peanut butter..avocados..low fat mayo..low fat salad dressings. they are not full fat..but just enuff healthy fat to keep me from not starving within one hour. but I believe..if you look at the cals in versus cals out thing..I must be burning enuff off to have some changes each challenge. and that..that is because of the muscle I have gained. it is burning fat right now as I just sit here on my arse typing to you. it is very active tissue. just listen to your body. try adding more veggies..that can help alot too. the last thing on earth you want to do is starve it. don't be paranoid of eating too much..be paranoid of eating too little. I think that is worse cause you do not want to loose muscle and you will if you eat to little. that muscle is your fat burning machine. I used to worry more about eating too much..now I worry about not eating enuff. If I miss a meal..I freak out more than if cheat a bit on a meal now. it scares me more to miss meals cause I fear loosing muscle cause loss of muscle will make me loose some of my bodys fat burning power. I feel like I cheat when I miss meals. it is a huge new way to think..it has taken awhile to get into that mentality. but eating enuff of what your body needs really really does burn your fat. you convince your body to release the fat because it knows it does not need to hold onto it. it will only want to hold onto it if it thinks you are not going to feed it. eating the right foods will only help you. so is extremely right you need to eat more. I would die a painful death if I ate 1400 cals. just cause that would not include any fats and I would suffer greatly..I just know it! starving is very painful for me now...lol. so don't be scared..you will have great results! Guest guest
I don't want anybody to misread my advice. 1200-1400 calories may be an ideal weight loss range for a lot of women. I told Asia that she needed to eat more because on top of BFL, she plays 3 hours of volleyball several times a week. She was also counting 2 tbsp of Udo's in her daily calorie totals. That means on a given day, she might be exercising for 4 hours and only eating 900 cals worth of food! That leads to a sluggish metabolism, serious cravings, out of control free days, and a whole host of other problems that make it more difficult to lose fat. Just wanted to clarify. :-) Paranoia Hi all, told me that I need to eat more...I'm totally paranoid of eating more than 1200-1400 calories. How much are you guys eating? Thanks, asia
