Guest guest
Rodney: I'm new to this as well and I'd love to have the definitive answer on calories. However, reading the 120 Year Diet, Walford states that there is no " right " caloric level. If I understand him correctly, he recommends losing no more than 1 to 2 lbs per week (more is typically water loss unless someone is quite ample). Perhaps this is doing in from the backend...but my current objective is to do the following: .. find a caloric level which results at a 1 lb weight loss per week until I achieve an BMI of 19 (which is that of a young, healthy female athlete) .. incorporate in my daily diet the recommendations from The Okinawan Way and Furhman's Eat to Live, i.e., 10 servings of fruits and veggies per day, sufficient Omega-3, flavonoids, etc. .. adapt my eating style (number of meals/spacing, etc.) so that I remain sated throughout the day. This doesn't answer your question scientifically...but this is my newbie approach. BTW, thanks for asking the question!
