Guest guest
Hello CR ALL, One can do power searches of the CR Society Archives without being a member or subscriber. The archives are filled with volumes of CR information, including many useful citations from the CR Science literature, along with interpretations and discussions of what these citations mean. Here is a real life example. Someone asked me whether the experimental drug Metformin is useful and safe for CR. To find out, one can search the archives for free, without needing to subscribe or plow through tons of email. Go to this webpage: http://lists.calorierestriction.org/archives/crsociety.html Click on " SEARCH THE ARCHIVES " . In the " THE SUBJECT IS OR CONTAINS " field put: Metformin In the " SINCE " field, put: Jan 2001 Leave the other fields blank. Click on " START THE SEARCH " . There are 81 matches listed in chronological order. The latest message was posted on Nov 29, 2003. -- Warren One can do powerful boolean queries using connectors " AND " , " OR " , etc. And one can search on numerous other fields besides the Subject field. =========================================== On 28 Nov 2003, Anonymous wrote > > Warren, > > How many people do you know that are using Metformin > in their CR practice? > > Is this worth looking in to, or experimenting with? ...
