Guest guest
Hi Bernadette, The Body for Life program is quite good, IMO. There are lots of great “programs” out there, and I think unless you have specific sporting goals in mind, the important thing is to do SOMETHING. Cardio training is important, but it bores me, so I choose to go at it for just 20 minutes a day, but with “balls-to-the-wall” intensity. It’s a killer, but makes me feel sooooo good for the rest of the day. I do this first thing every morning. And then of course you have to do some kind of weight training, at least a few times a week. Again, how much you do depends on your goals, but you’ll know you’re doing something right if you’re getting progressively stronger. You’ve been working out for 20 years, so you probably already know this stuff. For what it’s worth, I’m a certififed personal trainer, so feel free to email me offlist if you have any specific questions. As for CRON and exercise, I find them to be perfectly compatible. Of course, the more you exercise, the hungrier you’ll be, so if you want to keep your calories low, it can create a ceiling as to how hard you can exercise. Raising calorie intake to accommodate heavy exercise is counter productive. You still need to keep those calories low. We have an ongoing debate as to how much exercise is beneficial. Do what makes you feel good, IMO. Hugs suz
