Guest guest
Hello CR ALL: What huge differences there are between what people said during their interviews, and what actually got reported in the NY Times article. This was done by feature writer Hochman, in the NY Times feature article 23 Nov 2003, " Eat Less, Live to 140? " Dr. Walford has spoken up, Sherman has spoken up, and now Kim Sandstrom (below) speaks up. We have had more of an education from the aftermath of the article's appearance, than we got from the content of the article itself! Thanks again Kim, for your remarks below. -- Warren =================== On 28 Nov 2003, Dean relayed this ---------- Message from Kim Sandstrom: I was the women shown eating her greens at the top of the NY Times Article. I am a newbie to the CRON society, though I have followed the ideas and studies as they have played out in the media for a few years now. I was a little unhappy at the squib written about me in the article. I was not horrified...but I was disappointed that in the hour long interview I had with Hochman he did not amplify the most important message I had: that I HAD already gained life that I thought was lost to me forever. I didn't think I would live to be 50. The last 5 years of my life were plagued with pain and inflammation and all this was evident not only in my daily activities but in my corresponding blood work. I was a sick woman. Restricting my calories but optimizing my nutrition has bought me a fuller life and brought me from the brink of an ebbing life. I have already extended my life...and that was the message I wanted Mr. Hochman to get across when he used me in the article. The fact that I will be in a doggone beauty pageant is fun for me...but not my ultimate message. Please convey this message via your communications when people talk about this article. Thank you so much. Sincerely, Kim Sandstrom
