CR advisable for autoimmune disease?

Hello,

I have been a long-time reader of this list, without much to

contribute. I do appreciate having this resource. Have been

interested in CR for over 3 years since using the ON guidelines in

Walford's book to lose over 100 lbs. I am now no longer obese (bmi

24), get regular cardio and consider myself relatively fit, and am

still " ONing "

I realize that CR is kind of a new science, and there's not data out

there to cover every health scenario, but I was hoping to get some

opinions about a question I have:

I've been sick for about 5 months with a kind of

rashy/arthritis/fatigue kind of thing and my doctors are stumped but

think that it could possibly be the beginnings of some type of

autoimmune disease like Lupus or Rheumatoid Arthritis. My question

is, if that turned out to be the case, would CR likely improve or

exacerbate the condition? I have read that certain autoimmune

conditions like Schleroderma are sometimes benefited by a low-calorie,

low protein diet. My wife and I had planned to start CR in earnest at

the beginning of 2004 as a resolution. Since I had read that CR is a

booster of the immune system, I was wondering if it would in fact be a

good choice for me.

Thanks!
