Guest guest
Dear all, I read this from westonprice website CHOLESTROL- YOUR BODY'S BEST FRIEND Men who have cholestrol levels over 350mg/dl are at slightly greater risk for heart disease. FOr women, there is no greater risk for heart disease, even at levels as high as 1000mg/dl. In fact mortality is higher for women with low cholestrol than for women with high cholestrol. My question, why the discrimination between man and woman? Is this statement true? Another question, people with high cholestrol will have lighter rings around their eyes. I notice that in 2 person with high cholestrol. WHy is that? Is it due to cholestrol or something else THANKS ALL Joni --------------------------------- Looking for last minute shopping deals? See if you can find out more, and let us know. > > Another question, people with high cholestrol will have lighter rings around their eyes. I notice that in 2 person with high cholestrol. WHy is that? Is it due to cholestrol or something else. ==>Yes, high cholesterol may be indicated in the eyes, however it simply means the person requires more cholesterol in order to protect and repair the body. It doesn't mean that they should " try to " lower their cholesterol levels in any way. It does mean that their body needs that much protection and repair due to other factors. Cholesterol doesn't cause heart disease in any case; see these articles: " What Causes Heart Disease? Guest guest
Hi Joni, From what I have read, men tend to have a higher risk for heart attacks in general. Some studies site this is because men process stress, especially emotional stress, poorly as compared to women. And since prolonged elevated stress increases a person's risk of heart attack, I would think that the statistic you mention below is probably more due to this fact, than any connection to cholesterol. Guest guest
I've read many times that the reason men are more at prone to heart disease is because of excess iron and iron oxidizes. Women can get rid of the excess through menstruation. A good way for men would be to donate blood about once a month. > > > Men who have cholesterol levels over 350mg/dl are at slightly > > greater risk for heart disease.
