Guest guest
Hi Debbie, Just read some info not to long ago about antacids, which may help you. Our daughter had acid reflux and was prescribed an antacid script, so I decided to read up on antacids before getting the script filled. Well, what I found out was that the antacids start a vicious cycle. They cause the acid to die down and your body to realize it has less acid, therefore your body makes more acid when it thinks it needs it. So somehow you can never be with antacids. What we decided to use were digestive enzymes with her meals and also papaya tablets, which must be chewed to release the enzymes. After 3 days of the enzymes she was fine, no more acid reflux, and hasn't had any since (about 9 mos. ). The papaya is a natural enzyme and reacts in a less invsaive way in breaking down the acids, and won't cause the body to think it needs to produce more acid. Hope this helps, not sure if all the info I found was valid, but the enzymes worked like we had hoped, and keep working. ~ JANICE ~
