TSH Gone Wild!! Is this the Army Hospital or me?

My TSH has swung wildly in the last months according to lab tests. What is

going on?

In July I was on one grain of Armour and my labs were:

July 26, 2007

Free T3 2.55 (1.4-4.4)

Free T4 0.33 (0.58-1.64)

TSH 9.370 (0.34-5.60)

Then was moved up to two grains daily of Armour and my labs two months later

came back:

Sept 26, 2007

Free T3 4.91 (1.4-4.4)

Free T4 0.54 (0.58-1.64)

TSH 0.020 (0.34-5.60)

I was told to reduce my dose again back to one grain of Armour. So for Oct,

Nov, Dec and onto January I took only one grain daily. Symptoms began to return

mid way through. A sign to me that 1 grain was not enough.

January 11, 2008

Free T3 not run (1.4-4.4)

Free T4 0.37 (0.58-1.64)

TSH 11.890 (0.34-5.60)

Right after the January labs my doc told me to up the grain amount gradually

back to 2.5 grains. RIght before this February lab was done, I was taking 2

grains daily. 2.5 grains wasn't sitting well. Not sure why.

February 09, 2008

Free T3 not run (1.4-4.4)

Free T4 0.73 (0.58-1.64)

TSH 0.120 (0.34-5.60)

So the trend seems to suggest I do better between one and two grains fo Armour

but this seems to be such a slight dose. What else is going on? I feel much

better when I take two grains daily and I have virtually no symptons on two

grains.

Could this be lab error?

Be kind but please do share all of your insight so I can attack, er speak with

my doc about it!

Sincere thanks,

le
