concerning all of this talk about weight:

I am 6'3 " and for the last 3-4 years have been going from 235lbs to

255lbs within a month to a month and a half, then back to 235lbs

within the same amount of time. I walk all day and push a 350 lbs

cart full of tools around with me... heck of a exercise program.

and yes I eat like a horse but I have cut out a lot of the total crap

I used to eat, like a whole box of zingers and a big ole pop for

a " snack " . but if I stop all this exercise I know I would probably

gain weight.

Last night I found a blood chemistry paper from Oct 2006 taken before

a surgery and it shows:

mg/dl glucose 123 H

mg/dl cholesterol 266 H H = high F = footnote

ratio chol/hdl ratio 5.91 H F

mg/dl ldl cholesterol 182 H

mg/dl triglyceride 196 H

uIU/ML TSH 3.942

everything else is within range,

my cholesterol has come down a lot since then but is the chol/hdl

ratio being at 5.91 mean I was already starting to go hypo or is the

uIU/ML TSH of 3.942 the only thing concering this ? it was a lower

number then.

thanks,

Mike.

you need to get recent labs, labs from 2006 are not going to tell you how your

body is doing in the present. can you get new labs?

Your chol/hdl ratio of 5.91 is not all that high; and IMHO may have a

lot of explanations other than hypothyroidism.

I just had new labs last month and they stuck me on synthroid 50mcg

1X day, but I was still feeling horible so I asked for a larger dose

so now I am on 75 mcg 1x a day and go back for labs next month.

thanks.

almost everyone on my grandmothers side of the family dies from heart

problems or diabetes, so I'm up a creek with a hershey bar paddle as

far as my long term health is concerned anyway.

that test was from Oct of 2006, it was a lot higher on the test last

month, I went in for a rock hard growth in my left armpit the size of

a large plastic Easter egg, they said it was an infection and they

put me on 3000 mg a day of 1 antibiotic and about another 1500 or so

of another and 2 other pills, then did blood work and thats when they

found I was hypo, and put me on synthroid the day the blood results

came back, they made me take the antibiotics for a month which made

me sick as hell. they were going to cut it all out and biopsi it

until they found I was hypo, they said the lump would just eventually

go away. and it has but it still hurts inside my armpit.

anyway thanks for your input .

Nope; milk chocolate. Dark chocolate is very bitter to me; I don't like

it at all.
