It starts at the forehead with a warming tingle and intensifies. From there, the tingle travels down the rest of the body, stopping anywhere between the chest to the toes. With continued use, the flush gradually lessens until only a mild tingling in the forehead may be detected. If you skip your niacin for a day or two, the flush will reappear. Many factors can influence the flush reaction, so its difficult to predict what your experience will be like. Factors that decrease the intensity of a flush include: * a cold meal * taking niacin on a full stomach * taking aspirin or an antihistamine prior to taking niacin Factors that increase the intensity of a flush include: * a hot meal or a hot drink * Taking niacin on an empty stomach * chewing the tablets, helping them break down faster Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
