Guest guest
Could be, I guess; but I don't have that excuse. My hypo was accidentally discovered in a routine exam probably within weeks of beginning and I was put on Synthroid and never have had any symptoms. I swear sometimes I'm ashamed to even be here, when I hear someone's tale of woe with a quality of life that is pure hell. Especially when I don't have the slightest idea of how to help them. But I guess sometimes it's worse: When someone is spending precious resources and time on a quack product that some artist is using to get rich on the misery of others; and I don't know how to communicate that information to them in a believable manner. Most times I feel fine, but last night I got a bit of food poisoning or maybe stomach virus and today I can hardly sit in a chair. Thank God for preparation H! [ggg] At least no one's called me a " sore head " yet today... As for level headedness I think that honor would have to go to Chuck. And he's also a PhD research scientist, so he can keep us straight on the chemistry and credible research. It does help to realize he has a unique sense of humor if you ever hear him say something that sounds " off the wall " ... [iMHO] Glad you and Sue kissed and made up! Guest guest
Logically there are two types of doses under discussion in my statement: One is the NORMAL dose and the other is and OVERDOSE in my post. To assert that " every hormone causes side effects " is to include the NORMAL dose as well as the OVERDOSE. That statement is inaccurate, and it is to that statement that I replied. .. .. > Posted by: " Nancie Barnett " deifspirit@... > <mailto:deifspirit@...?Subject=%20Re%3A%20Levothyroxin%20and%20DHEA> > aspenfairy1 <aspenfairy1> > > > Sat Sep 20, 2008 10:12 am (PDT) > > Sue- > wrote this: I don't see how it follows > That every hormone causes side effects; " > So, then I replied: > If you take too much or too high of a dose then that hormone is going to > cause side effects. Guest guest
Thank you, Sue, I knew you'd come around -- but it's NOT " balanced " pH, it's pH (in your body) as near to 7.365 as you can get it. Then, wonderously, thank to Providence, you'll start to simply " get better. " Read a bit more, and you'll come across the requirement of 7.365 for body pH. Our water engineers think enough about this that they put fresh water in the pipes at a pH of about 7.3. Guest guest
Hey Nancie...perhaps you should let sleeping dogs lie. Take things as literally as you want...especially since you are a medical provider...but you should know in that particular instance, you were mistaken. That's all i was pointing out. Sometimes when one is attempting to make a point they will use fictional examples to illustrate that point. If you take these fictional examples too literally and formulate an opinion on the example as if it were truth you would be mistaken...but you are a medical provider so you probably know that. > From: eastodurango@ earthlink. net <mailto:eastodurang o%40earthlink. net> > <eastodurango@ earthlink. net <mailto:eastodurang o%40earthlink. net>> > Subject: Re: Levothyroxin and DHEA > hypothyroidism > <mailto:hypothyroid ism%40group s.com> > Date: Thursday, September 18, 2008, 1:37 PM > > > > > > > > > > > > Of course there are ¼side effects¹ to EVERY hormone your body > needs that you > > put into it or you would feel no results! > > If you are low on thyroid hormone and tired, you take your hormone and > you > > FEEL maybe a bit hyper, or energtic or warm, etc. > > > > It¹s all a matter of CORRECT dosing of CORRECT hormone. > > > > sue
Guest guest
Mathew- The point is that all hormones, supplements and drugs have side effects whether you experience a " positive side effect or not. You can still achieve a positive outcome and still get a benign side effect. That is a fact. -- Re: Levothyroxin and DHEA > hypothyroidism > <mailto:hypothyroid ism%40group s.com> > Date: Thursday, September 18, 2008, 1:37 PM > > > > > > > > > > > > Of course there are ¼side effects¹ to EVERY hormone your body > needs that you > > put into it or you would feel no results! > > If you are low on thyroid hormone and tired, you take your hormone and > you > > FEEL maybe a bit hyper, or energtic or warm, etc. > > > > It¹s all a matter of CORRECT dosing of CORRECT hormone. > > > > sue
Guest guest
Sue, i am just now getting through my missed emails here and appreciate your response to this question as it is very informative. It is frustrating that our doctor's first solution is to put us on antidepressants. It makes me wonder how many people out there are actually not being treated for what is really ailing them. > > > >> > >> > >> > >> You raise an interesting point though . Guest guest
There is a very very simple neurotransmitter test which can be ordered by a doctor to test your brain chemistry and often " treated " with amino acids. I have no idea why doctors and especially psychiatrists are not ordering this test except that doctors do in many ways, support the drug companies and vice versa.
