This confusing combination of possibilities is the kind of puzzle an endo is supposed to sort out. That is what the specialty means. However, a neoplasm in the parathyroids ought to be a lot simpler to detect than the pituitary. Chuck
Guest guest
Thanks Chuck, I got no where with the endo I saw which was recommended by my GP. He did not seem concerned about the Pit. tumor and his answer for my weight gain was diet pills so I will not be going back to him. I am seeing my Gastroenterologist at the end of Dec. So maybe he can help me sort this out. I know when he sees the Ak Phos. result he is going to suggest a liver biopsy....maybe that is not warranted if I have a blood calcium issue or hyperparathyroid issue? Don't expect you to know this, it is just what is going thru my mind. I have so much going on, it would seem it is all connected and I wish I could find a doctor that knows something. I would think more blood tests, at least initially. Do you live near a teaching hospital? You need someone that likes to solve puzzles, a Dr. House. Guest guest
Chuck Yes, I love that show and Dr. House. I often say to my husband when we are watching it, " why can't we have real doctors like him " We do have the Wisconsin Medical College here in Milwaukee which is a part of Froedert Hospital which has a very good reputation. I could look and see what is available there. Thanks for the suggestion. Guest guest
Alk phos can be either liver or bone related. You have to get more tests done to determine which is the cause.
