Guest guest
I'm surprised that your pharmacist would be asking you about crushing up the Revia 50mg tablets to make up the LDN. Even with their highly sensitive scales, trying to do that procedure would be very difficult and leave you with less than accurate 4.5mg capsules.A doctor who uses LDN told me that this would more or less be an exercise in futility. ??????? I thought crushing 50mg tablets of Revia to make them into 4.5mg capsules was common practice?? I have seen my fathers pharmacist weigh it out on his scales and it weighed 4.5 mg's. Does anyone on the list get their naltrexone this way? Thanks
Guest guest
By thye way, I crush them to make LIQUID formulae, you are correct about the scales: how can you guarantee even mixing with a filler, even particle size..and no scales can measure less than 10mg, even that is hard work! :-) ----- Original Message ----- From: pete/lisa low dose naltrexone Sent: Wednesday, January 28, 2004 5:34 AM Subject: Re: [low dose naltrexone] RE: [spotlight_ldn] Re: Naltrexone held up at the border! Guest guest
Thorough crushing with a mortar and pestle will reduce the Revia tablets to powdered LDN. If there is a variance in the dosage it is because of the Pharmacist doing the work is careless or uncaring. This has been the case of some Pharmacies that are not listed on the LDN web site. Also, any Pharmacist that can't weigh out crushed Revia accurately can't weigh out the powder accurately either. Guest guest
Sorry, but I beg to differ. There are scales that will weigh far less than 10 mg accurately. Some are so accurate that they have to be used in near vacuum constant temperature conditions to prevent any air movement around or on them because any slight movement of air will effect their accuracy.
