Personally I would have thought that having the antibodies of

Hashimoto's thyroiditis that high would in fact be a diagnose of

hypothyroidism; but maybe I'm mistaken. I would guess it means that

you're newly infected and that your TSH is still within the normal

range. But the fact that you're feeling so bad [presumedly from

hypothyroidism? ] would give another impression.

Why don't you give us your complete lab report [be sure to include

ranges] and see what we can tell you?

I thought they were suppose to look at my T3 as well???

FT4 is often the only one they look at. It's cheaper than a full panel.

Unless you have a severe conversion problem, T3 will follow the T4. Both

will be high or both will be low. The low free T4 suggests you have a

binding problem. However, you clearly have Hashimoto's.

FT4 is often the only one they look at. It's cheaper than a full panel.

Most of your T4, and T3, is held in the blood by thyroxine globulin or

albumin. Only the free fraction contributes to metabolism. If too much

is bound, you become just as hypoT as if there were a lack of supply of

the hormone.
