Soy and hypothyroidism

Hi Hope, <br>I have read that Soy is bad for the

thyroid, so I avoid it. I agree with Snicker_gal, Weight

Watchers is the best diet, it allows all food groups.

Thanks everyone! I know I wasn't getting ditzy

too! (I think that is a symptom too :-) I take

levothroid, .50mg or something like that, second one to the

lowest amount,<br><br>Does weight watches have a web

site? I am sooo busy! SIngle mom, no energy. How long

will it take to loose the weight???<br><br>Hopeless in

Does anyone know the link between soy

products and hypothyroidism? I had a patient call me concerned b/c she heard in

her support group from another patient that she shouldn’t eat or drink

spy products. She has a h/o of hypothyroidism and

drinking soy milk now b/c she is lactose intolerant post-op. When I researched the internet I found

many articles talking about the negative effect of soy products on thyroid

disease. I couldn’t find any studies though so I was leery about how

reputable they were.

I thought these websites might be of interest because soy is a problem

for us. It is difficult to find food that does not have soy in it

unless made from scratch and even that may be a problem.
