Guest guest
Hello , welcome to the group!? Sometimes it can be hard to tell whether you are taking too much or too little meds as the symptoms can be kinda similar.? Here's a start though: Have you been more hot ot cold than usual? Cld would indicate hypo, hot would indicate hyper. Have you been constipated or had diarrhea lately? Constipated = hypo, diarrhea = hyper. Have you been gaining or losing weight? Gaining = generally equals hypo, losing = generally equalls hyper.? Sorry if I am being redundant and you know all this already. Do you know a good amoutn about both hyper and hypo symtoms?? If you haven't done that already you deffinitely should.? What kind of hypothyroidism do you have? What I mean is, what was the cause? Do you have your most recent lab results? If you don't call your doctor and ask for them and then please post them here. Also, have you been waiting an hour after you take your meds to eat? And when you eat, do you wait two hours to take your pills? Also, you have to wait four hours on both sides of taking your meds to take vitamins, etc. with added calcium or iron.? If you have been taking a multi vitamin with your armour then it's pretty much like you haven't been taking any armour at all. Also how much armour are you taking? You should visit the " stop the thyroid madness website " and memorize it, lol. Also, research as much as possible! In addition to that you should probably make a doctors appointment to get more labs taken. When was your last labwork done? Sorry if this is too much info. However, I wouldn't say any of this if I didn't think it was important. I look forward to your responses. im new here im new to this group. my name is ashley im 19 and hypothyroid. hi does anyone have anything to say about armour. past couple days i have trouble sleeping, loosing WAAAAAAY TOO MUCH hair and feeling like crap when i wake up. i just wanna lay in bed. but i cant i have a 10 month old baby boy lol. and also my legs hurt when i wake up. right now im soooooooo tired ive been laying in bed for almost 2 hours while my son was sleeping. its getting bad today. i dont think my med is workign at all accually i think it made me have most of these issue. all i say everyday is why me ________________________________________________________________________ Email and AIM finally together. Guest guest
Michele, Welcome to the group. The more usual increment during titration is six weeks. Since you have been going up in very small increments, it may take awhile for the effects to kick in, especially if you have been hypoT for awhile. The more modern dosing approach (if there are no cardiac issues) is to estimate the full dose and jump right to it. A dose of 100 mcg is at the bottom of the full replacement range, which will vary with gender, weight, and age. My mother, sister, and niece were all at 200 mcg at one point. They are all now at lower levels or have added T3. I am at 137 mcg. My doctor started me at 75 mcg and went to 100 mcg four weeks later. Three other possibilities: 1. Are you taking the medication correctly? If you take it within four hours of calcium or iron supplements, you won't absorb it. Food should be at least two hours before and one hour after the medication, longer if high in fiber. 2. You might have T4-T3 conversion or binding problems. 3. You might have some other condition that causes some of the same symptoms.
