Guest guest
Hi Lilian It sounds like IBS, probably not enough thyroxine cos going from 5 grains of Armour to 125mcg thyroxine will send you hypo. Happened to me when my dose was lowered from 200 to 150. Have no problems at all on 200. Chris > > I do not know why but when I am on thyroxine alone I have the pattern of being constipated and then have a day of the runs. Problem is I never know when that day is, and it is difficult making appointments etc. > > When I was on Armour this was not the case, I was completely normal and regular. Now that I have been back on thyroxine it has started all over again. > > Lilian >

Guest guest
IMHO 50 mcg per day is a very low starting dose, with the typical final dose being much higher. Especially for a woman, who requires more than a man of the same size and age. I don't know what to tell you about the diarrhea. .. .. > > Posted by: " fragrance_seen " fragrance_seen@... > <mailto:fragrance_seen@...?Subject=%20Re%3AWhy%20diarrhoea%3F> > fragrance_seen <fragrance_seen> > > > Wed Sep 10, 2008 3:37 am (PDT) > > am hypothyroidism, and have been on the T4 treatment for 1 month, now > on 50 mcg per day , but sometimes, I caught by diarrhoea. Guest guest
I had that when I was on levothroid and levoxly. The Doc took me off, but it happen a couple of days after taking those drugs. You said you have been on the t4 treatment for a month, have you raised your dosage? If that is the case than you should tell your Doctor, he may put you on something else. If not than it must be something else. If you have taken it for a month and it is now happening than it may not be the drug, but something else. Guest guest
The diarrhea could be from a dye in the pill or the lactose if you are lactose intolerant. Some people find they must take only the white pills. Also some of the T4 preparations are lactose free such as levoxyl.
