Guest guest
How old is your brother? My son is 20 and only weighs 115 lbs, and is very active/hyper. He¹s just made that way but ‹ he has HypoT! He takes levoxyl 50 mcg daily. His TSH was around 7 and he had low Ft4. Now all is normal and he feels very good. sue On 8/28/08 2:19 PM, " tassiter " <dia47@...> wrote: > > > > Am really confused at this point. > > My brother has all the symptoms of hyperthyroid, weight loss, > hyperactive etc.... he just got blood tests and .. > > TSH...14.105 (0.450-4.50) > T4 Free 1.01 (0.61-1.76) > T4 6.4 (4.5-12.0) > T3 116 (85-205) > > I have hypothyroid and I know when TSH gets above 3 or 4 I start > feeling really bad, how in the world could he have one of 14 and be > walking around and how could that be so high and the rest be within > normal range? Guest guest
Why isn't the health community making waves about the numbers of people with thyroid problems? How incompetent. A 20 yr old with hypoT and I am hearing more and more of this. Something is doing this. It is not just heredity. Guest guest
What can the do? My son and I take responsibility and action for his health care. We are very pro-active. Look at all the kids who have Diabetes now! Look at OUR water here, it has FLUORIDE in it cuz kids have bad teeth or can¹t go to a dentist. It¹s nutso but we do what we can to protect and care for our well-being by finding competent doctors, eating organic foods, exercising, laughing hard each day, loving as much as we can and yeah, taking out meds and supplments. The rest is in God¹s hands, in all honesty. Guest guest
Well for one, Fluoride. Many reports say how bad it is. How about how they grow our food. What nutrients are not in our soil any longer that we need. Diabetes increase isn't just because our kids are sitting in front of the computer or TV. I believe something else is going on. Yes, we do have to take responsibility for our own health because we do not get the support we need from the medical community. I guess it is just wishful thinking they could or would do anything to find out what it REALLY going on. Guest guest
I am afraid so; we don¹t drink our own water. We can¹t. I voted in our local election against it. Toxins are in most foods. We buy organic, locally grown. We don¹t use sugar substitutes. We use as little processed foods and corn products as possible. I think it¹s making a difference. If more people do that, that alone will effect change, as stores will have to change the way they produce foods so people will still buy them. Like what happened with smoking. When I grew up, it was chic and cool, now it¹s disgusting and nasty. sue On 8/28/08 4:10 PM, " venizia1948 " <nelsonck@...> wrote: > > > > Well for one, Fluoride. Many reports say how bad it is. High TSH is more an expression of the duration of the hypoT than its severity. TSH is rather slow to respond; that dampens the excursions of the feedback. However, when TSH reaches triple digits, that suggests that the time of hypoT has been long enough to cause damage to other systems. Guest guest
Agreed! I think I was hypo as a small child. The older I got the more symptoms I had. Wasn't dx'd until 24 CW -- Re: Help with blood test readings Why isn't the health community making waves about the numbers of people with thyroid problems? How incompetent. Guest guest
this is really hypo. many hypos can be skinny when adrenals are worn out too. I think he will need adequate thyroid and adrenal meds and iodine. Gracia Am really confused at this point. My brother has all the symptoms of hyperthyroid, weight loss, hyperactive etc.... he just got blood tests and .. TSH...14.105 (0.450-4.50) T4 Free 1.01 (0.61-1.76) T4 6.4 (4.5-12.0) T3 116 (85-205) I have hypothyroid and I know when TSH gets above 3 or 4 I start feeling really bad, how in the world could he have one of 14 and be walking around and how could that be so high and the rest be within normal range? Of course they want him to take the synthroid. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ No virus found in this incoming message.
