The part I thought was dated was the discussion of diagnostic tests, which have

advanced quite a bit since the uptake index was widely used. That tells me some

of the other information has probably been superseded as well. There are plenty

of web sites around that give the current tests and their capabilities.

The date of the latest revision of that particular chapter was 2000. The Chapter

on thyroid assays (6A) was more recent, 2006, and it included the more recent

information about diagnostic tests.
