Guest guest
iodine and cod liver oil work for me. Gracia I've never asked my doctor for anything for the dry skin we all get, but this year my legs are super itchy and dry. Does anyone know of a good over the counter product that is good? I've tried many lotions, and they seem fine at first, but after the lotion really drys out, the itchiness is even worse. Is there any products that doctors give that are really good too? Thanks **************One site keeps you connected to all your email: AOL Mail, Gmail, and Mail. Try it now. Guest guest
The best thing for dry skin is to check for low hormones. That would be thyroid, estrogen, testosterone, progesterone, etc. As both women and men get older we dry up because of declining hormone status. When I was a young guy my hair used to get oily and I had to shampoo everyday. My skin was moist and no wrinkles. As you get older skin gets dryer, you can see that your heel pad on your feet gets thicker, your skin gets older looking and dry. All of these corrected since I have been on Armour thyroid, replacement testosterone, adrenal and melatonin replacement. You can rub gallons of oil on, that is not the root cause. Guest guest
Hi TyBlossom, My husband and I were both having dry skin problems. His was so bad, especially in the winter, that he was digging big sores in his arms. Mine, thankfully, was not nearly so bad. The solution we found was to eliminate all commercial soaps in our bath. We bought a life-time membership in a local organic food/health store (about 40 miles away). One of the products they carry is a natural soap made using goat's milk. It comes in many wonderful fragrances (natural herbs and essential oils). It's called ZumBar. The price online is about the same as we pay in the health store (10% markup w/o membership). We love the smell of all of them! Here is a link to their website... http://www.indigowild.com/ hth,
Guest guest
most md type things are overly expensive and not necessarily beneficial in the ways you expect.' For dry skin, try extra Vitamin C, Vitamin D, and high-pH therapy. Many cases OF " dry skin, " are an early manifestation of psorias, which itself is a disease of poor nutritional support coupled up WITH high acidity or low pH.
