I could not agree with that statment more. Let me tell you my experience. My wife was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung adenocarcinoma. It is a cancer that is very hard to detect until it is too late. When we got the diagnosis back in November we were both devastated as the prognosis is grim, to say the least. A friend told me about LDN, and I read everything about it, and became hopeful. I printed out everything and showed it my my wife's oncologist, who was skeptical to say the least. After the second chemo, she said that she was afraid it would be toxic to the liver and have to stop chemo. Yeah, right. Needless to say, this scared my wife. I was there and aruged with the doctor (a Russian female dr, f.y.i.), and the compromise was that she would write a script for LDN after the 3rd chemo. Well 3rd chemo session passed and I went to pick up my wife at the hospital. I asked her is she got the script for LDN. My wife told me that the 'dr doesnt *think* I need it'. I was livid. If the dr. was before me I would have literally strangled her. Meanwhile the dr. wanted to put her on an experimental drug progam in addition to the chemo, which has horrible, wrectched side effects......but is part of the cancer regime. But since LDN is not, she wont do it......and WHY?!?!?!?!....because of liability. The dr. is afraid of being sued if she prescribes something that is not on the approved list for cancer. Xanax - sure all you want? Valium? Why not? Ambien, well, of course. LDN - no way. My wife went back the next week for a check up and came right out and asked the bitch, er, doctor, " Can the naltrexone hurt me? " Silence. She said " I asked you, can the naltrexone hurt me. ANSWER ME, dammit, this is my life, not yours. " The dr. would not verbally say anything, but just shook her head back and forth to indicate no. Once my wife heard that she agreed to take it. I got a script for it through a *friend* and had the pills in my hand within 24 hours. My wife has been on it a week now; no side effects, but she says she is feeling a bit better. I can only hope and pray. Needless to say I cannot stand doctors who refuse to consider alternative therapies. Yeah, cancer is a business. A big business. 90 pills of LDN cost me $119 at a NYC pharmacy. My wife's chemo, which she goes for every 3 weeks costs $4000/session. Now you see the reason why the med. community and the drug community refuse to consider LDN. Rgds Warren
