Guest guest
Hi Jody, You are right on as far as I am concerned. That has been my major complaint about the medical system as well. I did the same thing you did....got someone to look at the whole picture.

Guest guest
Hi Jody, I can get really depressed sometimes and it is almost always right before or right after my doctor's appt. This last time was really bad. When I went in there he started in on the Imuran bit and statistics and stuff like that. My enzymes are up at bit, so I realize why he did it. However, it sent me into a tail spin. It took over a week for me to get my head back on straight and decide that I could take action by improving my diet again and going back on some other herbs and things that have helped before. I don't really think about my liver disease unless I am at the doctor. I put it out of my head. I remember about 5 years ago, my Mom saying to me that she had " let me go " and that whatever time we had left, she considered icing on the cake - so to speak. At the time I was a little surprised, but I could understand where she was coming from. I was beginning to wonder if I was going to make it, but while still in the hospital I had an experience that reassured me and I knew I would be ok. I have been surviving with this mess for 15 years now. Maybe your Mom just doesn't know what to say or how to handle her own feelings about your illness. Of course, you know her and would be able to judge the context of her words. I hope you get to feeling better.

Guest guest
It's also FDA approved at the higher doses used for drug addictions. |---------+----------------------------> | | " Laurie " | | | <petsrus6@...| | | om> | | | | | | 01/08/2004 01:58 | | | PM | | | | |---------+----------------------------> >-------------------------------------------------------------------------------\ -----------------------------------------------| | | | low dose naltrexone | | cc: | | Subject: [low dose naltrexone] jody | >-------------------------------------------------------------------------------\ -----------------------------------------------| Jody, Maybe you just mis typed what you had wrote, but LDN does have a use, it was orginally made for heron addicts to kick the habit. They later found out it is helpful in the treatment of AIDS and cancer. Now they are studying it for crohns disease. As far as MS, no there is no " offical " studies in the USA as of now, but that may change soon. It was delevloped many years ago, so sides and later affects are known, and it is endorsed in the usa, just not for MS.... yet!! Guest guest
Hi Jody I looked it up and Winston-Salem is 4 hrs. from me. I still will consider it if my appt. in Richmond doesn't work out next week. That is a really good price. The doctor Nina told me about in Vienna,VA is closer but I don't like having to pay ahead for a fill when I have no idea when I'd need a 2nd fill. I'm sort of a pay as you go person since my credit cards are almost maxed out after paying for the surgery!! Thanks again Dianne -- Deb SM I am trying to honor my band. I know I need a fill but am having a hard time finding a Dr. in VA who will do one for me!! I should have started looking sooner but I was doing so well I didn't think I would need a fill until maybe Dec. Then all of a sudden I could eat a lot and feel really hungry so I was in a panic!!I would recommend that new bandsters plan ahead and get an appt. for a fill at 6 weeks. You can always cancel it or move it ahead if you don't need it. Someone else mentioned that previously and now I know why!! I know the band works because of how much I've lost, but I need a fill to keep feeling that full sensation or I am at a loss to stop myself sometimes. If I had good self-control I wouldn't have needed the band!!The Dr. listed on our site has refused to do a fill for me because he said the band should have been secured with more than the 2 stitches that I had. I had assumed that the ones listed would not refuse us so I have been set back a bit. The other listed for VA charges $2000 and I don't have that much $.I'm going to try another one that is on the site that M. found and hope I have luck with him. Please send me good thoughts and wishes!! I'm trying!!!!!!!Dianne pizza addict!!
