Guest guest
T4 is T4 is T4 regardless of source - there are no additions or deletions. It is also a GRAS drug (generally recognized as safe) meaning it didn't ever have to go through FDA testing of any kind; it was grandfathered in. The T4 your doctor prescribes, be it Armour or some other T4 only source, is identical. One could also assemble a concoction of T4, T3, T2, and T1 FROM ANY SOURCE and get identical results to using Armour. That implies someone tried to patent it. Otherwise, why would they alter it to make it patentable? At any rate, no patents were ever involved, either applied for or desired. > Fake T4 is " similar " to the T4 created by a thyroid gland, but is > not " exactly " the same because a component has been altered. It is not similar. It is the exact same molecule. Identical. Same chemical formula. Same structure. Same effects. All that is different is that it is not embedded in pig tissue with some of the other porcine enzymes, proteins, T3, RT3, T2, T1, and calcitonin. Calling it fakey is like saying the CO2 that comes from burning gasoline in your car is different from the CO2 that you exhale, because what you breath is " natural " and unpatentable.
