I havn't tried a perm in along time, but my hair person remarks on how

healthy I must be, if my hair is this healthy! It feels good....

Hi Maarit,

I suspect this may be a bit different for everyone. Some

prescription medications can cause hair loss. Here is a Medline

abstract...

" Hair loss in psychopharmacology "

cmd=Retrieve & db=PubMed & list_uids=10798824 & dopt=Abstract

Apparently coffee can cause a deficiency in inositol (part of

the B vitamin group), which then may cause hair loss. Here are the

best links I could find on that subject. No references on any of

the pages, unfortunately.

http://www.stophairlossnow.co.uk/Vitamins.htm

scroll down to inositol

http://www.healthlibrary.com/reading/yod/sept/hair.htm

" Lack of inositol causes loss of hair. Any person having trouble

with his or her hair should eat foods rich in inositol such as

yeast, liver and molasses. Research has, however, shown that women

have a low requirement of inositol. Although this vitamin may help

to stimulate the growth of the woman's hair, its lack is probably

not a major cause of slow growth. Women are generally deficient in

iodine and vitamin B1, either of which can slow down circulation to

the scalp to such an extent that hair may fall out and new hair grow

in very slowly. Women who have diets adequate in iodine, the B

vitamins and iron have a better growth of hair. "

" Sources: Inositol is present in both plants and animals. It is part

of phospholipids in animals; in plants, it is contained in phytic

acid, which can bind calcium and iron. It is not totally clear how

inositol is produced by the body; it may be made by intestinal

bacteria. It is stored in the body, but drinking lots of coffee can

deplete these stores. Inositol is found in the whole, unprocessed

grains, citrus fruits (except lemons), cantaloupe, brewer's

yeast,

unrefined molasses, and liver. It is also available in wheat germ,

lima beans, raisins, peanuts, cabbage, and some nuts. And, of

course, lecithin is a good source. "

I am having more and more hair loss daily. I'm thinking its because

of the Armour. Before starting Armour, I had a healthy grade of hair

but now its very brittle and thin. Also very, very dry. Any advise

anyone?
