Guest guest
No problem, we all do it. I found some info on DHEA, and though it very interesting. http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/dhea/NS_patient-dhea Roni noreen <katkarma@...> wrote: Well – Sorry folks, I really goofed!!!! That’s what I get for doing something like this when I’m tired and right before bed! The supplements I am taking to lower LP(a) are NAC and DHEA (dehydroepiandrosterone). I’m currently taking 50mg of DHEA (Natrol brand) and 1200mg of N-A-C Sustain (Jarrow brand). (N-Acetyl-Cysteine) I even googled DMAE to get the actual name and never read it! I have no idea what this is!!!! Please excuse a tired brain….I realized my mistake as I was taking my supps this morning…. Again, sorry, Noreen [stopped_Our_Statins] Re: The Power of Fish: Omega 3 Fatty Acids/Roni Hello Group, A couple of things to remember about Policosanol... * It lowers Lp(a) cholesterol. * And also reduces platelet aggregation (stickiness) I've read many reports that some have stopped taking Policosanol because it did not do lower their cholesterol (as advertised), but that's not the only benefit... And the objective is to find the 'root cause' of elevated triglycerides, which can be due to a high carb (especially the 'white' foods) - low fat diet. Triglycerides - 243 down to 207 on one 23 mgs pill per day LDLs - 142 - down to 137 on one 23 mgs pill per day HDLs - 69 both times Risk Assessment Ratio 3.8 - down to 3.6, Average risk down to Below Average Risk That was on one tiny pill per day, with no side effects. I have been taking 2 pills, and am going in for a new test very shortly. I'll post the results.
Guest guest
Thanks for sending this Roni! A lot of good info. Always at the back of my mind with DHEA is the risk of cancer; can't get past that. Which is why it is a good idea to check with a medical adviser that we trust. Guest guest
DHEA is cancer protective, as is iodine/iodide. Find a medical advisor with some knowledge. MD has written about DHEA's benefits. Gracia Thanks for sending this Roni! A lot of good info. Always at the back of my mind with DHEA is the risk of cancer; can't get past that.
