I said patentABLE.

Synthetic T4 drugs are MAN MADE in a lab, not made in a thyroid

gland.

Natural substances are created by nature and therefore not

patentable, at least according to information at uspto.gov.

Fake T4 is " similar " to the T4 created by a thyroid gland, but is

not " exactly " the same because a component has been altered.

It's still FAKEY t4!!!!!!!

No; the molecules are identical. It is impossible to tell where they're

made; there's no difference in them. The T4 in Synthroid was not

changed to make it patentable; it was not changed AT ALL. A pig thyroid

gland and a human thyroid gland and the Synthroid lab all produce

identical molecules of T4. You keep on with the fake/modified BS; how

about providing a bit of credible support for your position? Aren't you

about as tired of this I said/you said foolishness as I am???

I _am not_ addressing what seems to me to be your basic premise: That

Synthroid is ineffective for a smaller or larger number of hypothyroid

patients. Whether that is valid or invalid is another matter entirely.

All I am asking is that you quit providing false information to the

group. And if you believe your assertion is valid please provide

credible evidence. My challenge to you is: You can't.

You seem to have a great handle on it. One minor quibble: Although

Synthroid was originally grandfathered in it did eventually get FDA

approval in 2002. See this quote:

You can find the complete article here:

You may have to wait as sometimes the page loads very slowly. Much of

it sounds like a hatchet job on the makers of Synthroid but I'm

convinced some of it is factual.

Now, for your final exam you have to convince Sam! [ggg]
