I tried Melatonin with my ldn. for about a week but had trouble staying asleep. Now weather that was because of the melatonin or just the ldn. I don't know but havn't tried it since. Also havn't slept the whole night thru since .....but I hear that the closer to fifty you get the less sleep you need! Very soon I will find out. Oh yes the Melatonin was not affecting how the ldn. was working, not like taking it too late was. Reg

I take melatonin -- quite a bit, for my chronic insomnia. Dr. Bihari

said it was fine to continue with it. HE said that my sleep should

improve to the point where I should be able to do without it. I've

been on LDN for 2 months now and unfortunately, my sleep is still

disturbed, and I still take too much melatonin.

Reg,

You may be right, about needing less sleep the "closer" you get to fifty. I don't remember.

I do know that "after" fifty (<grin>), especially now I'm retarded....ahem....retired, yes it's

retired, and now I....hmmm...lost again.....oh yeah, I can now "sleep in" and that's something

to look forward to. Ahhhh! Take care and have a GREAT DAY!

I have repeated this many times but I will keep repeating for newbies...

When you feel symptoms getting worse or seems as though a flare is coming, check for infection. UTI, throat, ears, teeth, a cold.etc.....

Even stressful situation can bring on a pseudo-exhacerbation. This is the only fact that my neuro and Dr. B both agreed on. Kiki

Hi Chey,

Oxazepam??? Sorry, I've never heard of it but someone else here probably

has. I've never " really " required (asked the Dr) for something to help me

sleep. I used to just lay there, toss and turn, wake up the wife and then

get

up and go into the front room and sleep in my " chair. " I slept in my chair

for

about six months, up until I Finally got back to a somewhat normal sleep

pattern. I probably should have asked for something to help me sleep, but

for me, personally, the less drugs I have in my system the better. Oh well,

everybody is different. I have a question for you, and anyone else that

would

care to answer back: Today is ok, but for the past 5-7 days, I've felt like

#$%^

and it just struck me, it was " real similar " to having a relapse, but

without ALL

the really bad symptoms, they were all really light, uncomfortable, but

definitely

there. Maybe the ldn??? kept a " possible " flare-up WAY down to a minimum.

Any thoughts on that Please. I " think " it was, but, anyone else experience

some-

thing similar??? Thanks for your answer all, and take care and have a

Great Day.

Do the same Chey, and will try something else to get some pictures to you,

Jim

Hey there Kiki,

Yes, I am a newbie(blush):-)

I remember you posting on the checking for the infection etc., and it wasn't

any of that. Strange, and the only way to describe it was, it "seemed" just

like an exacerbation/flare-up, but with difference that I could "think" which

I really couldn't when I did experience a flare-up before. And I could slog

my way through the day. (smile) No temperature, nothing else that my wife

or I could find, just bleahh! And today is back to "pretty good." Anytime that

I experience a little "triumph" I get "jazzed" and in a much better mood!

If your post was for me, Thank You very much for replying, if it wasn't, sorry

for intruding.

Take care and Have a Great Day,

Jim

Jim... I am not worried about my sleep as I am retired also, it is so nice to be able to retire before total disability sets in, but still even with ldn I feel the clock ticking. Reg.

Hey Reg,

Amen to that clock! One of things I now fight is the lack of enthusiasm for any of

my "projects" on either my list of "to do" things or the "honey-do" list. ha!

At times, I want to jump up and get a whole host of things done, and then there

are a lot of days that seem to "slip" by and I struggle sometimes in finding the

motivation to "get going." My wife and I practice Tai-Chi and have recently

taken up "Abaniko Largo Mano" which is a Filipino Stick Fencing (fighting)

style of martial arts, and it's a gas, except when you get your knuckles out in the

way or forget to duck. <grin> Gives her a chance to beat me and get away with

it. ha! Opps, breakfast call, gotta run! Have a Great Day, Jim

Since melatonin is a sleep inducer, it shouldn't cause insomnia. However, if the LDN dosage is too strong it can cause insomnia. Also, there are other things that can cause insomnia to that a person might not readily recognize i.e., a full moon that brings out the werewolf instincts, etc.
