Guest guest
usual dose of Armour/Naturthroid is 180--300mg. 60mg or 1 grain is the starter dose. you can test your Free ?T3 and T4 (not TSH). I hope youare on iodine group for how to use iodine effectively with companion nutrients etc. you might not need thyroid meds! I think Iodoral works best at 50--100mg. Gracia After being on iodoral/iodine for 4 months, my PMS has improved and insomnia almost gone. No more bad headaches, or heart palpitations. And my chronically low temp is increasing. Then one month ago I finally got a scrip for Nature Throid (desiccated pig thyroid). For the first time in years I had practically no desire to take a nap the week before my period. Yea! Here is my question: I am now on 660 mg, or 1 grain, after a month. How do I know if I am there yet? Or should I increase dosage? I have not started losing weight. I still have food allergies. And my brain is still not sharp, (short term memory- bad, word recall - bad). I know it takes years to get the bromide out of the body but as for the Nature Throid, what exactly is it's promise? Guest guest
Gracia, Thank you. I am on the iodine group & take all supporting nutrients, celtic salt, etc Sorry I made a mistake. I am on 4 , 1/4 grain pills = 65.00 mg So you are saying I may need to move to double or even triple my dose? I hope my doc. doesn't count my refills because he said 5, 1/4 grain pills would be my max. As for not needing it, I am happy that the iodine is making my thyroid begin to function, but I have felt too bad for too long to not try the nature throid. And so there may come a day in the next year or so, when my hormones are retested that I want to back up off the Nat. Throid but for now I'll try it. I am currently taking 25 mg of iodoral because when I tried 50 it really clogged my liver, so I am taking it easy. I may increase periodically while pulse dosing. I am unclear though, what is iodoral supposed to disappear vs. what is Nat. Throid supposed to disappear? Thanks Again, Ali On Nov 12, 2008, at 9:21 AM, Gracia wrote: > > usual dose of Armour/Naturthroid is 180--300mg. 60mg or 1 grain is > the starter dose. you can test your Free ?T3 and T4 (not TSH). Guest guest
you may want to add ATP cofactors from http://www.vrp.com I needed this to utilize iodine, and now take 100mg per day. if you have felt awful for a long time, then you might need thyroid meds too. I take 240mg Armour as well. your doc is really wrong on dosing, he must be going by TSH. both thyroid and iodine will help you feel very well. Gracia Gracia, Thank you.
