Guest guest
Ohhh, I haven't much to offer, I haven't had surgery but need something. Anyway, so sorry for what you've been through. I'd say disability, for sure. Try your hardest to stay calm and positive, I know, I know, not an easy task. I hope you get all the intelligent help you need and come through fine. Guest guest
I have a fusion in my c spine in 2001. Yes, the surgery was painful. However, I had wonderful therapy after recovery which enabled me to keep the mobility of my neck. I hope your surgeon understands and makes sure you have this therapy. It consists of gentle movement of the neck by the therapist, thereby, making sure scar tissue does not freeze the neck. This was my one and only successful surgery. Good luck. Guest guest
I can't live the way I'm used to on diability. But It's hard to just keep pain under control without work. Positive is what I try to be, but it is getting harder! If the tumor is bad maybe won't have to worry for long? Guest guest
Just had my pre admit phone exam for the neck tumor removal. Nurse asked me if I had a living will or directive? I told her I did but that was for my lumbar fusion in 03. My wife, now ex wife, if it was still inforce would probably off me at the drop of a hat! I told her that I was an organ doner, but would like to renew my lease on the parts for another 30yrs or so! Said I had a good attitude, I asked if there was another option (bad attitude) what would that accomplish!! --- ann gourieux <fudgie4u@...> wrote: > Bill, > > That is kinda funny!!! Guest guest
Don't think you have to worry about the prior living will and/or directive. However, they have them at the hospitals and you might want to pick one up. You can also get them online at various health and legal sites. Good luck and please let us know how it comes out, ok. Guest guest
Sometimes i feel my thyroid symptoms seem to reappear before and during my cycle. Is it possible? What do I do when i get like this? My doctor has me on effexors. 150mg. I have been on them since I discovered I had thyroid disease. 5 years. And when i am PMSing, I have to take double. Because my anxiety and depression seems to get worst. I feel tired achy just miserable. Guest guest
How does she " know " you don't need a ferritin test, did she say?Are these estrogens natural or synthetic? makes a sizeable difference. The reactions to iodine may be because you're detoxing.Others on this list will know more than I do, though. Guest guest
Hi Louise, I got a bad headache when I got up to 10 drops of Lugol's 2 % (25 mgs). It went away when I went off iodine for a week (took a few days to go away even then). I started back at two drops now up to three of 2% Lugol's, no headaches. Will keep going up as I feel comfortable with it. I too dislike salt, and my ankles swell when I use it, always have, iodine or no, detox or no. So I don't take much salt, I will increase as I feel comfortable with it. That's my method, listen to the body. I have MS and need to pay attention, it has worked for me. Pino > > According to her since my MCV was not low at that time ( but very close ) she told me I was good with ferritin. What could I say back? I'm taking bio identical hormones. I take Iodoral, do they use any type of filler in this? I was very sick from taking the new Armour from their filler. I don't think it's detoxing, I have tried Iodine five years ago and had this same results and since then tried taking it many times. Recently I tried it two more times and can't deal with a migraine headache for months. The headaches were this bad and lasted weeks at a time until I stopped taking idodine. I have no idea why this is happening to me. I tried to raise it at one point and it made it worse. I even lowered it to 6 mg and the headache would not go away until I quit taking idodine. I understand detox but this seems much more than that. > >

Guest guest
Thanks , I just took some salt and felt a little better from taking it. I think I'm going to do all of the companion supplements with salt for a while and then start back on Iodine again. My sodium was very good when I last checked, it went up some due to drinking the salt water. I'll just keep trying. My husband had no detox symptoms at all and when he got to 25mg of Iodoral, he told me he felt wonderful. I wish it was that easy for me.On Jun 21, 2011, at 4:20 PM, sfreadergrl wrote: Hi Louise, I got a bad headache when I got up to 10 drops of Lugol's 2 % (25 mgs). Guest guest
I have been taking liver detox supplements. My alt was high about 5 months ago and this time it came back down after taking liver detox supplements. I would like to know about other good liver cleansing products besides the ones I'm taking like Milk Thistle, Turmeric and Alpha Lipoic Acid. I take a lot of supplements a day and have done so for many years. I think I've been hypo for a very long time but the doctors never caught it in tests since the TSH range was different that long ago. I know for the last five years these issues relating to being hypo have only gotten worse for me.On Jun 21, 2011, at 6:25 PM, Linn wrote: Louise, If you get a headache with most everything you try, it would be prudent to look at taking some liver supplements. Guest guest
Know I read someone went up to 50 and no longer had problems but they had trouble at lower doses. It might be worth a try.Sent from my iPhoneOn Jun 21, 2011, at 3:59 PM, Louise Hill <loubob@...> wrote: No I haven't tried more than 25mg. Do I just start out with taking a large dose? It went away when I went off iodine for a week (took a few days to go away even then). I started back at two drops now up to three of 2% Lugol's, no headaches. Will keep going up as I feel comfortable with it. I too dislike salt, and my ankles swell when I use it, always have, iodine or no, detox or no. So I don't take much salt, I will increase as I feel comfortable with it. That's my method, listen to the body. I have MS and need to pay attention, it has worked for me. > >
Guest guest
Louise Not sure I follow the logic of not testing ferritin because MCV was not low?? I had a over normal range MCV and my ferritin was low. I have not read of any relationship between MCV and ferritin, maybe your could elaborate a little on that. Your elevated heart rate sounds like a hyperT reaction, so cutting back on your Naturethroid as your doctor suggested sounds like a reasonable first step. You might consider cutting back on your iodine until your heart rate calms down and then reintroduce it gradually. Hope you feel better soon. T4 was 8.6 ( ref. 4.5-10.8 ) My T3 was high at 5.6 (ref. is 2.3-4.2 ) and she wanted it to come down. I also added iron supplements due to the lower MCV number of 84.3. I asked for a ferritin test the last time and she said I didn't need it. Should I get a ferritin test now to see where I'm at? I've been supplementing and felt good for about a week then the headaches started so I don't know if the iron is causing this or the higher dose of Estrogens? My heart rate has been in the 90's on and off which bothers me, I thought it could possibly be due to the iron helping the T3 to convert? Guest guest
How much milk thistle do you take? Personally I really like Dr. Cabot's products for liver issues. Here's her website, lots of good info here: www.liverdoctor.com (group owner) also recommends TLC (Total Liver Care) from PureZen Health. Provides nutrients for both Phase 1 and Phase 2 liver detoxification. Guest guest
IMO 50mg Iodoral or lugols is a minimum dose, at least for 3 months.  Gracia On 6/21/2011 6:59 PM, Louise Hill wrote:  No I haven't tried more than 25mg.  Do I just start out with taking a large dose?  On Jun 21, 2011, at 4:55 PM, Higgins wrote:  You know, although it seems backward, I read about someone who took more and felt better.  Have you tried that?  Sent from my iPhone On Jun 21, 2011, at 1:20 PM, "sfreadergrl" <laura.laurapino@...> wrote:  Hi Louise, I got a bad headache when I got up to 10 drops of Lugol's 2 % (25 mgs).
