Guest guest
In my case this is fairly common. NO one understands the pain it seems and trying to make people understand is just an exercise in futility... I am sure most people will say the same thing. Guest guest
Hi Cyn... I haven't experienced this phenomenon, but that could be because I was already an adult when I had my surgery. When I'm having a bad day, and the way I walk makes it obvious to others that I'm in pain, people tend to ask about my back. At those times, if the person doesn't already know, I simply tell them that I have a disc below my fusion that has degenerated. I have no training in psychology, but I'd bet that a professional would tell you not to waste any emotions on the fact that people don't understand your pain. If you have pain, and feel like you can't do something because of it, just tell people that your back is painful today and move past it. That's what I try to do anyway. And, I always let my family and friends know that I won't be hurt if they want to do some activity in which I cannot participate. It's not their problem, and I don't want them to ever feel guilty about it. As much as I'd like to do what everyone else can, I know that's not very realistic. What I don't want, is for everyone to sit around openly pitying me, and feeling like I'm the reason they can't have fun. Hope that helps. Guest guest
I've been reading about people mixing their own LDN. I was wondering if this involves using empty "capsules". I have a friend who's daughter takes medication every day for a missing pituitary gland. One of those medications is a depakote sprinkle. We have to open the capsule and pour the contents into her mouth, then we toss the empty capsules. I don't know how safe it would be to put something else in it. Or if it is even possible or necessary to do so, but if anyone could use these capsules we can surely save them. BTW my friend Beth started her LDN about a week ago. I'll let the group know when we notice anything.
