A particular danger is toxoplasmosis, which can be transmitted through cat feces. Pregnant women need to be very careful, as toxoplasmosis can cause babies to be born blind and otherwise damaged if their mothers are infected. Guest guest
Harper, Thanks. I didn't know this. I'll make sure my daughter finds a home for the cat. I only keep her because she has been with us since the kids were small. She is their pet not mine. is married now and needs a pet. Guess what. She just inherited one. Again, thanks. Guest guest
Dear Harper, I have a grand champion show kitty that I love, his name is Creampuff! His picture is featured in Cats USA 2002 issue in the breed section under Ragamuffin, which is a new breed, sort of a ‘spinoff’ of the floppy ragdoll. I am taking 50 mg Imuran and 15 mg prednisone for my ‘mild CAH’. Do I have to be extra careful when changing his box? I wash my hands thoroughly and don’t try to touch anything. Am I that much immuno-suppressed on these doses that I can’t have a kitty? Any advice would be most appreciated! Thanks! Guest guest
, Having liver diseases we all have to be very careful handling cat litter. For me I take all the precautions wash everything with bleach I bleach out the floor when I change his box. Yes, you can easily get sick unless you stay aware. My cat never goes outside so I don't worry as much. gayle/trans.6-99 galye@... @` \I/
Guest guest
, I have Scleroderma and AIH. Scleroderma can sometimes be caused by chlorine exposure. Breathing that may bring you more health problems than the kitty litter risk. I personaly would use my tea kettle with steaming hot water and a mop. This would kill the germs, less chemicals can mean better health for the liver and body. Just thought I should tell you as you do not want Scleroderma ...trust me! Lynnvs in Roch. Guest guest
Dear Lynn, Thank you for the advice! I just wash everything with soap and water or just wipe things down with water, instead of vacuuming. I think it’s much safer for me and the kitties. I try not to use any chemicals now, just what I need for my work, making artificial eyes. How are you faring with the scleroderma? How did you find out you had it? I just came back from the ER. Had abdominal pain at work and left a ½ hour before I was scheduled to. I really had to get out of there. They could not find anything wrong, although they were eager to get Friday’s test results of my liver function. Whatever it was, they said could wait till Monday when they get the report. Hmm, it was strange to have pain like that. Wonder if it’s related to CAH? They felt it was nothing, but I know it is something. The pain is gone now. Re: [ ] Cat litter , I have Scleroderma and AIH. Guest guest
Hi, I noticed a cat litter derived from wheat at my local grocery chain. I'm not sure if that is what you're looking for. -- -----Original Message----- > Do you know of a recipe for homemade natural, scoopable cat litters?
