Guest guest
I think that in addition to impacting the kidneys you can also impact the liver [and probably other organs]. We take our livers for granted, but if they fail our life expectancy become minuscule. .. .. > > Posted by: " Roseanne ralph " roseanne_ralph@... > <mailto:roseanne_ralph@...?Subject=%20Re%3A%20Is%20there%20a%20procedure%2\ 0to%20determine%20whether%20we%20absorb%20minerals%20and> > roseanne_ralph <roseanne_ralph> > > > Thu Nov 6, 2008 3:20 pm (PST) > > There is a strong link between calcium and minerals deficiency and the > conversion of T4 to T3.Unfortunately there is no specific way to > determine whether you take the right nutritional elements rich in > those minerals. Also which is more important the issue :whether you > ABSORB those minerals or not. It's not what you EAT it's what you > ABSORB.In case you don't absorb:You create an overload on your > KIDNEYS!!!!So careful! It could lead to KIDNEY FAILURE!The over dose of > those minerals on the long run!Roseanne
Guest guest
I am very much aware that an overload of minerals can cause problems. I have kidney disease - Medullary Sponge Kidney - it causes stones, which are horrendously painful, which I know from frightful personal experience - it was a nightmare, only waking up just made it worse. No, I suffer from a deficiency, and it was that deficiency that caused my RLS. Now that I take good, bio-available multi-mineral, and with food, so that it has a much better chance of absorption, my RLS is a thing of the past. I drink plenty of water for my kidney ailment and also use lemonade now and then and watermelon and pineapple also for my kidneys. I am also treating my asthma with a good B-complex with extra B-6 and my usual Fall symptoms of horrible breathing problems, gasping for air, running to the doctor, getting on more meds, are now a thing of the past. This is the first Fall in literally years and years that I can even RUN up the stairs or for the train or bus and not have an asthma attack! I found out about the B's helping asthma from some of my old nutritional books where studies on B-6 and B-complex were done wtih asthmatic children. Doing this has given me WONDERFUL freedom from my usual Fall asthma nightmare. I had come to dread Autumn, even though I love it for its beautiful colors, because I would always be my sickest during Autumn. Freedom, glorious freedom! Guest guest
I can relate to the kidney stones, as I've had them. I agree: They hurt. I remember with the first attack calling the doctor while curled up in a fetal position on the floor. I really had no idea as to what was happening. But I kept adding more and more junk food to my diet so they went away! <---- Okay, bad joke... I hope neither of us have to undergo that again. I also suffered asthma attacks from childhood to the age of 59, and haven't had an attack since I turned 60 almost 8 years ago. I guess it was more junk food... I also have allergic rhinitis [plain old hay fever], but most of the sneezing has gone away. I still have a major problem with itching in the inner corners of my eyes, and that can trigger sneezing if I rub them. I'm also having a bit of a problem with sneezing now related to cold weather. And in Florida anytime a tee shirt isn't enough clothing that's considered cold weather [say, below 70 degrees! {ggg}]. We'll have to disagree about Brownstein too. I believe he has finally recanted on the ridiculous idea of the iodine skin patch test, but he promoted it for many years. I just don't see any way he could be so ignorant. He _has_ to know far more biology than I; so he has to know that physically it's bogus. .. .. > > Posted by: " F. Guest guest
Gracia, the way I found out he no longer recommends EITHER iodine test [skin or urine] was in an article that YOU quoted to this group. He said the skin loading test was not sufficiently accurate [a massive understatement]; and that one might as well treat with iodine without bothering with the urine test if the indicators were that it was needed. Thus he stated he did not recommend either. Or was that not Brownstein after all??? .. .. > > Posted by: " Gracia " circe@... > <mailto:circe@...?Subject=%20Re%3A%20Is%20there%20a%20procedure%20to%2\ 0determine%20whether%20we%20absorb%20minerals%20and> > graciabee <graciabee> > > > Mon Nov 10, 2008 5:57 am (PST) > > > > no this is wrong. he never recommended the patch test for iodine. he > still uses the urine test. > > Gracia
