Guest guest
I suppose the administration was sitting air conditioned offices! I think I would have marched myself down there and insisted school be dismissed because it was dangerous to be in that heat! Guest guest
Dear , I feel bad for you tolerating the heat. I can not take the heat, I moved back to Chicago from Louisiana to get away from it. Would they let you wear a hat with water mister in the classroom? Re: [ ] what causes autoimmune diseases I was leaning on the lectern and I was slowly getting goofy. It was definitely a mild heat stroke. We have only one window in class the size of my two hands. Guest guest
Rhonda, I agree, but once you get pegged by our superintendent, your life is over. It is horrible. I don't know if I would have the strength to fight it all. But truly I am thinking of calling! Also, have continually requested handicap stalls in our bathrooms, but so far nothing is being done. I don't know what else to do BUT to call....... Debby [ ] Re: what causes autoimmune diseases Please be very careful about the abestos stuff...I worked in commercial realty before getting sick and we were required to seal off the vacinity while removing the tile in a very small room. We had to sign waivers in case we got sick and everything. Another thing is the mold hazzard in the ceiling tiles. OSHA would have a fieldday at your schools if they knew about all of this. You can call confidentially and the can examine your whole school without pinpointing you. There are codes that have to be maintained or else violations carry stiff penalties. If you're willing to take the passive road for yourself, what about the children you teach? This could be causing health problems exponentially!Rhonda/TN> In a message dated 9/3/2002 10:20:00 PM Central Daylight Time, > tdcc2000@e... writes:> > > > .....I think there is asbestos in the flooring. Guest guest
Hi, Document all of these events. It sounds like the building is not in compliance. Guest guest
Debby is right - if you are perceived as too much of a complainer than you are ultimately blacklisted at your school. But this disease does supercede any blacklist. Maybe I should call OSHA in your state Deb and I you can call Montana

If that is futile then I will call OSHA and accept any consequences my administrators decide to dish out.
