Guest guest
Wow, Roni what dose are you on of Armour. These tests, if you are to believe the TSH, says you are HyperT. Which could be why you were having the heart palps. The 0.009 is closer to 0.1. but that is not good. Right, folks? I am sure someone will say you need iodine or adrenals but I can't speak to that. My last TSH was 0.01 and my doctor reduce my Armour. Guest guest
0.011 is closer to 0.1 than 0.009 . Chuck

Guest guest
NO. Once a person starts Armour, a TSH blood test is no longer an accurate test to run or rely on. Better to look at the Free T3 and Free T4, and also better to not take Armour 24 hours before any blood test. An even better measure of thyroid function would be to saliva test Free T3 and Free T4. Comparing the blood results with saliva results may tell if there is an issue getting thyroid hormones out of bloodstream and into cells and tissue. If there is an issue it is usually due to weak adrenals/low cortisol et al. Guest guest
O.K., so I have switched to Armour from Thyrolar. I take 1 grain in the morning and one in the late afternoon. I feel a bit better, but nothing spectacular and my hair is still coming out. The afibs are better on the magnesium, potassium, nattokinase, hawthorn, all suggested by the cardio. I don't know why it went down .2, and don't know what to do now. Roni Chuck B <gumboyaya@...> wrote: 0.011 is closer to 0.1 than 0.009 . Guest guest
Are you taking it sublingual or swallowing? What about getting your adrenals taken care of? Have you read this yet? http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/mistakes-patients-make/ Remember what I said about the TSH and Armour. But if you want your TSH to raise, you could always start taking Iodoral. <wink> Sam > 0.011 is closer to 0.1 than 0.009 . > > Chuck
Guest guest
Ouchy, your Free T3 is only slightly above midrange. Many people report feeling much better when the Free T3 is at least near the top of the range. Is your body temperature raising any? Guest guest
I haven't actually taken my temperature, but my hands and feet are not quite so cold as they were. Guest guest
Actually .011 is mathematically closer to 0.1; but there's not enough difference to ever notice it IMHO. I doubt the accuracy is as great as the difference. In any event you're right that technically they both are virtually identical hyperT numbers. > > Re: TSH reading > <hypothyroidism/message/36427;_ylc=X3oDMTJxcHJjZTU\ 5BF9TAzk3MzU5NzE1BGdycElkAzE0NTY2NARncnBzcElkAzE3MDkyNTEwODIEbXNnSWQDMzY0MjcEc2V\ jA2Rtc2cEc2xrA3Ztc2cEc3RpbWUDMTIwMjI2MTIzMQ--> > > > > Posted by: " venizia1948 " nelsonck@... > <mailto:nelsonck@...?Subject=%20Re%3A%20TSH%20reading> > venizia1948 <venizia1948> > > > Tue Feb 5, 2008 4:58 pm (PST) > > Wow, Roni what dose are you on of Armour. Guest guest
You only went down 2/1000; and I personally doubt that the readings are that accurate. You may have actually increased if the margin of error is 2/1000 or greater. Both readings are virtually identical. I don't know what you should do either. By conventional standards it would probably be recommended that you lower your medication. However, others here swear that the numbers don't mean anything once you're diagnosed and being treated for hypothyroidism. In any even I'd want to be aware of the warnings and effects of hyperthyroidism; and I believe you are. Guest guest
Thank you. Sigh, more research. more talking to doctors. What a drag.
